If your table flexes or is warped in the middle it will cause a low spot and that can affect cutting regardless of what you are using. You might not even know the table does this.

I also purchased it. Like you said you have to stand and put a lot of pressure to make sure it cuts entire piece. I don't like the ruler part. For some reason it is hard to see the markings.

I have one of the Fiskar original ones. It cuts fine for me. I remember it took me awhile to get the hang of it but once I did I would cut lots of strips. It works best if it is lower then your regular cutting surface. It's easier to push down the blade with little effort that way. I used it to cut until the Alto came on the market. I will use it every now and then mostly when someone says what is that and points to it hanging on my wall. I haven't tried any of the new ones yet.

I have one...older model....and yes there is a bit of an adjustment, but it does a good job.......but, one just has to be reasonable....don't expect it to cut more than 4/5 layers, keep the pressure steady all the way thru the cutting process,on a level table at the right height....just like using a rotary cutter........not like cutting with scissors....one can do that while sitting on a sofa eating bonbons......

i bought one a few years ago, at walmart! Like u, i thought it might have been me. i tried several times, since i have reumatoid arth., but after several times i could never get it to work. mine is in a closet somewhere. & it was about 40.00 wasted! good luck

I have only used Olfa cutters and mats and have been happy with them.

I have noticed the same, changed blades and of they were Fiskars blades, thought it was my badly worn cutting area, I changed that and still the same. Wonder what is going on!!

I think you've got a bad blade. Try changing it. It is also possible that somehow or other, it has two blade in it and that will give you a fit! If it still won't work, take it back. froggyintexas
