Make sure you wash it and dry it before using it to sew with. Flannels, especially low grade ones pucker terrible. I use it to back some of my penny rugs.

Burp bibs are great out of two layers of flannel.
Just roll hem on serger. Everyone loves them :thumbup:
An easy baby gift. I have given them a dozen at a time.
With the leftovers from making so many, I make baby quilts out of 4 or 4 and half inch squares. I have a pattern that is simple and easy to put together for charity . I also put flannel on the backs, except this time, I used light weight fleece.
They are cozy. I serge as much as possible and that makes them easy to handle without stretching.

I've made six flannel raggy quilts since the first of November. They're fast, easy, and fun to make. My husband has gotten interested in helping me and we now can make one in about 8 hours - start to finish.
We've made three for Christmas gifts, one for a birthday, and one for a friend to take to Chemotherapy with her. We've also made one for ourselves. So far everyone loves them.

I love flannel quilts with a good grade of flannel I also like the homespuns too a lady at our quilt guild says she always puts flannel on the back so the quilt never slides off the bed I would be lost without flannel

My ASG group uses them to back wheelchair knee blankets because they're so soft and especially, they don't slide off so easily.

The quality is poor at JoAnn's. Also, quality at Mill End Textiles is questionable.

I use good quality flannel for backings and baby quilts.

I have used flannel for both front & back of quilts, so warm you can turn the heat down!! I used the brick pattern, all scraps, came out nice. Have taken pictures just haven't post them yet.

sometimes I mix flannels with cottons for a soft touch. and in some quilts for an old look. Also you can put three layers of flannel together , about a 6 or 8 inch square, sew them together, and then sew them all together to make a rag quilt. I made a nice dog pillow out of some camoflauge material, and it looked cool on the porch ad the dogs loved it! If you have scraps of flannel you can stuff pillows and other crafts.

I've made rag quilts, flannel menstral pads and nursing pads. I've always had good luck using flannel.
