I have used both Soft and Stable and the headliner fabric at JoAnn's. I like them both and honestly can't tell the difference between the two. I've made a lot of tote bags and don't remember which ones have which product. JoAnn's is a lot less money especially if you have a coupon, and it's always available. Annie's you have to order and pay shipping.

I used it in a tote bag that I have had for 2 years. It has been used pretty much and washed twice. So far I love it.

Great topic Sewbeadit! Thanks everyone for the wonderful input.

I've used it -- I like it much better than batting. You can also use headliner fabric.

My favorite bag is an oversized tote used to deliver customers' quilts to them. I use Soft and Stable and it has held up beautifully. I have washed it many ,
many times and it still holds it shape! |
I will not make a bag and not use it. It's very easy to cut and sew through. It makes a bag stand up by itself, but it's not stiff. I made a large bag to hold my knitting and it's held up very well. I just ordered 3 yards thru Massdrop. I have it in both black and white. I really suggest you try it, I'm sure you'll like it and prefer to use it over batting and interfacing.
