I use quilts for tablecloths all the time when the table is not in use, keeps the sun off the woodwork and most of all you don't have to dust which gives you more free time to quilt.

Yes, do it all the time. Helps protect the tables from hot dishes and grandchildren and looks good too.

i made one for my dinning table and made a couple of placemats to match. i made it as a real quilt. i do not worry much about it i figure the placemats are enough protection. and i like the batting, helps protect the table. great way to show off a quilt.

Love this idea! Another way to show a quilt. Think I'll do one for the table on the patio.
