Oh pkelly thank you for saying that. I am just trying to recover from a broken wrist and it is not healing as quickly as I would like it to. Right now I have a devil of a time trying to cut fabric. There is hope then. LOL

I have both sizes and love mine. It took a minute to learn to use them, but now it's second nature.

I have both sizes and use them all the time. I've gotten the ruler/blade combo and wasn't happy with that as the strips weren't always the same width no matter how hard I tried to get them the same and the slidelock I always get what I need.

You DO NOT use them on top of your ruler, you line up the ruler on the fabric to the correct size you want to cut, slide the slide lock tightly next to it and then remove the ruler.

I watched to video on how to use this device; she measured the cloth then butted the slidelock up to the ruler, removed ruler and cut the fabric which means if you are right handed the material would feed from the left and vice versa if left handed--this would feel awkward at first. I have not purchased one due to cost but after reading these comments have decided that I need to start saving.

I spoke with the couple who developed these in Paducah in April. He told me it was her suggestion and they were not from Australia. I already had the larger one and bought the shorter one at the show. He was demonstrating it by sliding it up to the ruler, not on top of it. He also showed me another shape they were making but I don't remember what it was. I would never attempt to cut straight lines without mine.

The June Taylor ruler will slip sometimes when you cut it and the strips are not even. At least this is what I have found using this ruler. With the Slide-Loc on top of this it does stop the mat from moving. I cut many layers using the Slide-Loc it works just fine.
