Skinny inner border of red and fat outer border of the white.
My vote if for the red too. It wouldn't show wear and tear as much either.
Go RED ! ; )
Red for sure!
I would use the red. It would frame the quilt better than the green. I think the green would be hard to distinguish.
Love your quilt! Great Job!! Thanks for sharing!! |
the red is my pick.

RED!

Definitely a wide red border, which will frame your beautiful quilt nicely. Like the idea of a striped binding. Great job!
Go with the red - it's beautiful!
Wow, I love your quilt. Did the fabric come together as a pack or did you pick all of the fabrics? I am fairly new also and I would have never picked all the fabrics that you show. I'm not that talented, but the fabrics are so awesome. I love the pattern also. I'm going to have to do a D9P. Thank you for sharing.

I would do a narow red, then wider green with binding done in the green also. As a rule I usually do my binding in the same fabric as the border it is sewn to. Flows so much better to me that way. Beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see your finished work. You can try this trick I read about and tried and I feel it really helps, lay out the quilt with the different choices and just leave them for a few days and go every once in a while and check on them. A fresh perspective each time. It helps me alot more then constantly studing them. Hope that made sense.

Can't wait to see what you do. Robin in TX |
I like the red for the border, it will bring out the red used in the quilt itself. You can use the other one for a second border followed by the stripe for the binding.
A light green flange and the red for the border.
Slim green inner border, wide red outer border, definitely! Beautiful ;-)
I think a smaller red border and a larger green border.
Nice Quilt!!! |
I always choose border based on where the quilt is to be used or given. I personally like the green border with 1" red inner/stopper border. If main color of room is green then green border, or red border if the accents in room are red.
I think the red would look really good.
I would do a 2" inner border of red to frame it, then a wider of green and then your striped binding as you had planned. The striped binding should really set it off and give it it's personality(not that it doesn't already have one,)
I also like mutiple borders. Both colors are beautiful and would make nice borders. First a 2" and then the a larger one. Make the second one the size you need to get the quilt to the size you want it to be.

Dark one..very nice quilt !!
I would definitely use the dark and hope that your binding leans toward dark. That stops the eye, like a frame on a picture; otherwise, the border sort of drifts off. If you decide to use the green for the border, consider using the dark for the binding. Your fabrics are lovely and you have done a great job on your quilt.

I fancy the red one
I love the red...
Great quilt!! I would do a narrow red border first. Make the next green and wide......bind in green. Good luck :-D
I like the red. Is your stripe going to be cut on the bias? I did a baby quilt with the stripe on the bias and I was impressed. The lady at my LQS suggested it and it turned out great.
I like my borders to be equal to or multiples of my block size. Try a green border the width of your narrow patch and a red border the width of your squares. I assume your stripe has red and green in it. It will look fabulous.
I would put a border in the white/cream first then the red border. I'm new to quilting and may be in left field with my idea.
I think that the red with your striped binding would be great. Incidentally, that is a very nice quilt.
I'd do the red.
I think the red one would be beautiful as a border.
I would do the red since it is darker and would make the quilt stand out.
Love the red for the first border....what colors are in the stripe?? Depending on the colors in the stripe I might do the green border after the red one, then the binding.
I like the red.
Great job on the quilt! I like both fabrics, and you could use a narrow one, maybe 2", of the green, and then a wider on of the red, 4-5". I really like the red and think it would make the quilt. Keep up the good work.
I like both, but the Red seems to fit better.
Are the charms squares by Moda? |
I would do a thin border in the red, with a wider border in chocolate brown to bring out the random pieces of chocolate.
Beautiful Fabrics!! I'd use the red in a 4-6" border. Use a smaller width if it's a small lap quilt, if it's larger use a 5 or 6". Beautiful 1st quilt!
