I love the red. Darker and will highlight your work.

grandma Janice 06-14-2011 09:29 AM

I like the red

grannypat7925 06-14-2011 10:13 AM

Definitely the red! Maybe a very small of the other between the main body and the red.

I agree with the others and doing a 4 to 6 inch red border.

I agree. I would frame the quilt with a narrow red border, then add a wider border of green.

Can't wait to see what you do.

I agree with this choice!

Quilting Angel 06-14-2011 01:01 PM

I think I would do maybe a 2 1/2 inch border in the light color and then use the red in the outer border in maybe a 4 or 6 inch or vice versa. You quilt is very pretty.

I go along with this suggestion. I really like at least a couple of borders, too. You have a good eye for color, very pretty quilt.

ggreenridley 06-14-2011 01:50 PM

I believe the red makes it standout more.

I agree with border suggestions here and that quilt is super. I will have to do one too. I think I have those fabrics too. Happy quilting. You are off to a great start.

Totally agree with this suggestion ... What a beautiful quilt! Great job! Show us when you're finished!

For those of you asking I used Moda charm packs. I think the fabric line is called Shangri La.

Thanks for all the advice and inspiration!

I will post pictures when I get it done.

I vote red also, but I have always been partial to it.

familyfun 06-14-2011 03:03 PM

The red would make a beautiful border.

I would do them both. Do a thin border of the tan and then a wider border of the burgundy.

gzuslivz 06-14-2011 08:58 PM

I would do a flange in red (take a strip 2" wide, fold in half lengthwise right side out. sew into seam) and then a wide border of the green.

lauriequilts 06-14-2011 09:00 PM

I like the red best.

That's my opinion, also. It would really pull the whole quilt together. It looks fabulous, by the way.

Nice idea...can't go wrong with "chocolate"! :-D I notice you didn't call it earth-brown. I do love browns though & think it would work nicely with both the red & green on this quilt. Nice job!

Quiltaddict 06-14-2011 11:43 PM

I like the red.

Pat G 06-15-2011 11:23 AM

My opinion is that the red would frame the quilt.
