Thanks for all the kind replies. I asked because I was bouncing back and forth between the two. Guess it is best to look for a third option in that case. Someone suggested a blue flang and that is what got me thinking this other solution. Actually, it is what my friend used on her quilt. I just did not want to do that much work. Oh well what is a little more time, considering all the time I spent piecing those pointed, or not so pointed, blocks.:) You gals and guys are the best. Love this site even though I do not post often. |
It's a dilemma! I am guessing that you like the blue best, but because it may not be 100% cotton, you need reassurance. Your blue really defines the blocks, but I would probably go with the yellow (#2 with blue posts) because it is cotton. Very pretty!

I am not a yellow person, but I do love the way #2 looks!!
|
I like the blue since you are using yellow on the back...looks good

I like the blue

Use the blue .Things tend to float on the yellow.

Normally, I prefer blue above all others, no matter what, so the fact that I think yellow is the better choice means this is without bias (forgive the quilting pun, there - ha!). I think the yellow (#2) makes the blocks pop out and become eye catching, whereas the blue (#1) causes the colors of the blocks to become toned down and more quiet. Didn't know quilt blocks had so much personality, did you? :)

I like both - but I think the blue just "pops" the blocks!

Blue is my favorite

Blue - yellow is very powerful and can overwhelm the other colors.

I like the blue because your eyes see the whole quilt better. It makes every thing stand out.Very pretty.
like it. |
I am partial to the blue with the yellow cornerstones. The blocks are beautiful.
|
blue for me

I like the blue much better, but I suspect that the difference isn't as great in person as it is in the pictures.
|
I like the blue with the yellow cornerstones.
|
#1 :-)
|
blue/ yellow binding
|
I like the blue if you're still counting votes.
|
I like #2. Yellow sashing with small blue squares between large blocks. It just seems tied together better.
|
I like the darker yellow #2, but would need to use a binding of the blue color. I also like the blue #1 as it brings out the blue in the quilt.
|
Blue as the back will be yellow, you could also make a narrow strip of yellow first and then put a wider strip of the blue, just a thought.
|
I think I prefer the blue sashing. Nice blocks.
|
Well I guess none of us here on the board helped at all
looks like evenly mixed choices Just to get mine in I prefer the blue No wait I like the yellow, no blue Just for your information I do like the blue the best of all So good luck on your choices Can't wait to see which one you picked |
I like #2 the best. It makes the quilt very cheerful, however if you like a calmer feeling I would then choose #1, the blue. It all depends on the feeling you are looking for.
|
#1 for my vote.
|
I tried the look of blue/yellow/blue saching with nine patch cornerstones and did not like it. May have had a different opinion if the material had matched something in the quilt.
See I am still having trouble making up my mind. Now I need to find a sharp blade so I can cut the fabric. Thanks, you all have been a big help. :) |
Yellow!

First one!

I vote for version #2
Makes the blocks pop! Nice work :) |
