Agree 100 % :)

I believe adding to and changing things make them ours. Puts our personalities into the quilt and not just belonging to the quilt designer. The dictionary defination is: resulting from originality of thought, expression, etc.; imaginative: seems to me that he has it wrong. Just mho...

Creative is thinking outside of the box...not doing exactly what is done as the pattern directions call for or to play follow the leader...

He has it backwards!! :D:D

"Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties".
Eric From

"Imagination is More important than knowledge".
Albert Einstein

"The human mind once stretched by a new idea never goes back to it's original dimensions".
Oliver Wendel Holmes

Get the picture! I do hope your dear husband was pulling your creativity!

I'd tell your hubby that he is dead wrong and to go blow it out his ear.
Being creative IS being able to see beyond the instructions and still come up with a beautiful "creation."

Being creative is NOT following the pattern. Anyone can read a pattern and follow it. Making it your own IS creativity.

TonnieLoree 04-11-2011 05:13 PM

Well, as my ex-DH used to say "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him cross the road." <-- Yes, he did say that and my daughter and I broke into hysterics when he left the room.

He's an 'inside the lines' kind of guy, huh?

Creative is what has feuled progress in the world since time began. We can't always color between the lines to be creative...we need to find our own way.

Yes, you are creative. But he can probably follow directions better than you!
