your own saliva on a spot works, it is the way I have used and I believe my grandmother used it before me..let us know if it works for you! Happy quilting!

I don't lick the fabric but have spit on my finger, sorry to be graphic, and wiped it on the stain and it usually works.

The saliva thing did work. The chewing up a ball of white thread idea I don't recommend. I tried it and just really gagged and started laughing. Just spit on the thing.

This sounds weird, but I learned this in my sister-in-laws custom drapery shop:

whoever bled on the fabric should put their own saliva on that spot as they have their enzymes that will break it down and a little water will wash it out. Nobody else's saliva will work! only the person that bled on the fabric.

I agree with the saliva. Second choice would be the peroxide soak.

Hope you did the saliva thing because it always works for us. We do a "community" quilt for a bazaar and every once in a while someone will prick their finger. I did not know this but the person whose blood it is has to remove it as saliva evidently is different for different people. At any rate. the spot always comes out.

I work a lot of cold water into it ... peroxide also works as does "Grandma's Stain Remover"

This has worked for me in the past on white fabric. I don't bother with the thread, I just use saliva.

I didn't believe it either but a couple of weeks ago I stuck my finger with a pin & of course bled on the white border of quilt I had just finished. Cold water didn't take it out, then I remembered the saliva hint, fantastic, stain immediately gone.
