Honestly, I'm not sure it will tone it down much to add another fabric to the mix. I say "go for wild & crazy" & keep it as is and maybe if you have enough of the blue print left, bind the whole thing in blue!

If you do want to add another border, I'd maybe add a stop border in solid black & bind in the same color. That would help off-set the black print. Or if you truly do want to tone it way down, change the border out for a solid white & bind in any one of those 3 fabrics (red, white or blue) -- or all three.

Just my style. Love it with the turquoise strip.

I like the red and the print used for the pinwheels - very dynamic looking.

I like the pinwheels - a lot - and I like the cat print - a lot. Not so much together. (You did ask :o ) - Because the cat print has a lot of colors that are not in the body of the quilt - and because the cat print has a totally different "feel" to me from the main body.

If you have more stash to look through - maybe look for something else for the outer border. Maybe keep the turquoise and pick up one of the darker colors in the pinwheels?

I think even young children can go for bold and dynamic.

That's my thought on it.

I don't like them together - the black is too dark imo.

My opinion as well.

Alva there is no toning this vibrant beauty down! :D

Personally, I'd love to see it with a black and white stripe edging. I think that would have enough pizazz to work with the dynamic, colorful quilt you've made. The turquoise alone would work too but forgive me folks... it just seems a touch uninspired at this point.

Can you imagine walking thru a bland, sterile hospital and then seeing this on someone's bed vibrating with color and vitality? I think your quilt is truly inspired... take time with options for it. It's going to make someone feel love and alive.

I like the two border look.

I like it with the turquoise border!

I think the turquoise is too green, it doesn't match the turquoise print. Because the background is black and the body of the quilt is blue, I think they clash

However, I love the print and turquoise borders with the body of the quilt.

I agree. I don't think the border fabric goes well with the body of the quilt.
