I agree with Warm Wishes, its a beautiful fabric

It's gorgeous! It would be a pity to cut it up into small pieces. I would use it as a wide border, to show off the design, and select co-ordinating colours to go with it - proberbly looking at the dots on the selvedge in order to choose sympathetic colours.

I do know that I will use it as a wide border (that was the EASY part of the decision)... and I just ordered some of the all-over red roses that QKO has for a narrower inner border. Hope he has some left! After posting it here, well... it's likely to disappear quickly! :)

Still haven't decided on what to do with the rest of it.

BTW, daughter is nearly 14 and has rather sophisticated tastes. Nothing pink and girly for her. When she was in kindergarten she informed me that her favorite color was black. Guess she is being consistent, right?

I did one several years ago using the flowers as a center and making log cabin blocks using black and white or cream prints and red small flowered print and green of the leaves and could even use a yellow. 12 blocks and made a square of the blocks with a hole in the middle and filled it with plain log cabin blocks of he same fabric but wider strips. It looked ood and the DS and DIL use it as a cover for their bed.

A great collection----would make a lovely quilt using your daughter's choice. Also, I think I've found the collection that I want for the Bella Bella quilt I plan to make for my granddaugters wedding quilt. A nice variety.

I too think that Warm Wishes is the better choice for showing off your main rose fabric. I can hardly wait to see the finished quilt. Enjoy.

Paper piece a block like square in a square, where the first center piece is the full bloom of the rose. See the pattern below and picture the boom in the center. You could make it any size.

If it is for the sweet little girl in the photo? How about the pattern "Love That Print" www.GrizzlyGulchGallery.com It is a design of Ann Lauer. Now you have lots of ideas....keep us posted :D

I love the fabric. Maybe a couple greens could be use in the quilt too? I am new to quilting, so not good at suggesting color combinations. As for dark colored cats sleeping on it, I have found that dark cats sleep on light colored things and light colored cats sleep on dark colored things. I swear mine walk in a room and look around to see which color is opposite their color.
