Just talked to hubby about purchasing an Accu-quilt. He surprised me and said fine, as long as the bills are paid. Maybe my Christmas gift?

My husband never bothered me about what I bought for my crafts or quilting. Went through stages of ceramics, macrame, knitting, crocheting and now quilting. It is nice to be lucky.

IMHO you are absolutely right, but sometimes we forget and give in. Years and years ago our 5 yo son nearly was expelled from Kingergarten (Honest), saw pediatrician, who recommended therapist, who also told DH during one therapy session that if he had to hire someone to do what I do, he'd be paying over $40,000/yearly in 70's $. At least he could no longer say our son's behavior was all my fault, but then that's his easy out. I want you all to know that if anything bad happens, it's my fault, I'm the responsible one. Just so you know. lol After 43 years - too late for divorce, we just have separate bedrooms, much better. Sorry, for my venting, but having a bad day with arthritis pain - makes me __itchy.

I agree 100%! I am very fortunate that my hubby supports my hobbies, and I support his. He goes to quilt shops and quilt shows with me just as I go with him to home improvement stores and sporting goods stores. We even work on each other's projects!

That's what we are here for. Venting helps, that's one of the many good things about this board. It's mostly women and we get to say what we want about whatever we want and there is always someone who has had a similar experience. You never know who's life you might make a difference in.

Women, even in today's world, are abused. I've seen it where I work. It's sad. If more women were given cast iron skillets when they started a relationship or were married, and used them (in a multitude of ways), there'd be a clearer view of where people stand. |
