Just my opinion. I know how it feels to be scared to ask because I will be ridiculed and I hope I never do that to anyone else.

Later, I wanted to respond to a question that was the last message in a couple of pages of a thread, and I simply did a "quick reply." I should have done a "quote reply," as by the time my answer showed up, someone else had responded in between, and my response didn't make as much sense. I'm trying to be more aware!

I'm responding even though it's against my policy. I've come to the conclusion no one needs my answer if 2 pages of answeres have already been posted. (note - there's 3 here already!). MY irritation is when I post a picture, for example, and give all the information as to what pattern, what thread, etc. Then I get 7 pages of "oh, I like this -- where did you get the pattern"..... :( come on folks, read the first post at least!!!!

I am also guilty - sometimes there are 8 or 9 pages -I will read the 1st page or 2 - and then am shocked after I post my 2 cents, I find that the topic has changed altogether

woah. thatz fancy talk. What is it gots you uhnhappy now? it take more mussel to frown than to smile, so beem on, girlfrien

Well, my general approach is that if there are already 3 or more pages in the post, somebody has already responded - probably more than once.
I tend to avoid the posts that have lots of pages because i don't have the time to go through them all. My suggestion: It would be helpful if posters used more detailed topic descriptions though since it's sometimes hard to tell what a post is about for the few words included. JMHO :) |
I should not respond because it is up to page 4 already and I just read the first page but I am gonna anyway! I am just starting my day and many of you are at the tail end. I am off to sew!

I have read an entire post & by the time I write a response, someone else has contributed the same thought. This is not an issue with me & I do not have time to read posts that are many pages long.
