I like Kona White (not Snow but White)
If you go with a green the same as the leaves in that one print, would that be too much green to your liking? Or go with the burgandy in the flower.
I would use raspberry! add definition
Very pretty blocks I think it would be pretty with the white
and beige that you have in your block I would definitely lay different color strips next to these blocks and see what you like best you have a great eye for color. |
My first thought upon seeing these gorgeous blocks is White. Be sure to post photo when you get the quilt done. Nice job so far.. :)
I like the gray or something soft looking; pale pink as there is already blue. The colors are just beautiful. Let us know what you decide.
I say go with a very nice shade of green maybe not a dark green but one a hair darker than the shades of the blues that you are using. just my thought. you want it to help the blocks stand out and frame them but not take over the quilt so that you see the green first. I think that a green would be the right color to go with especially if you have cobolt blue walls. but I am a green and blue kinda girl.
I'm thinking the room is colbalt blue, kinda dark. Blocks are very light. So I would go with medium color. Not as dark as burgundy but not light or candy pink. Maybe like rose. Age has something to add to it. Hot pink for the younger a richer color for 40s. I like to take it shopping. Happy hunting! Show us pictures!

I also like the darkest burgandy in the flowers like Mitches Mom suggested. |
Perhaps a white on white fabric?
Try blue polka dot fabric strips around the blocks, then hold it up against the wall. Same with the pink & cream. Hope that helps you find the right color to use.
It's going to be beautiful. Show us when you are finished. Thanks. |
I like the green of the leaves, the burgundy of the roses or the blue polka dot. Place each of the colors against your cobalt blue walls and see which one you fall in love with. That is the one you choose.

for me, I think the dark rose or the darker shade of green
My initial thought was the blue polka dot ... but then I would have to audition colors to get a true feeling of what "moves" me
I don't know but sure like it.
I would audition a soft white, pink, a darker blue, medium and medium/dark green. Sometimes it is the color you least expect that will set it off.
Love your blocks, so pretty. |
i agree with the dark rose or burgundy
I think you need to bring in the wall color....not as colbalt as the walls but something to tie them in with the quilt.
Beautiful blocks!!!! |
Very pretty blocks - I think a medium blue would look great, something in a tone on tone blue, not too dark.

white..I made a quilt like this in a smaller scale and i used white It looks great
I made one like this on a a smaller scale and I used white and it turned out great
Hi, I think a light blue or maybe an off white. What ever you deside, it will turn out pretty.
definately white
I would use white with a small white print on it.
The white or cream that is in your blocks are my thoughts.
To me white with those pastels scream baby quilt.
I think white would give it a very crisp, fresh feeling. But I also like the idea of a darker blue, since that seems to be the dominant color of the blocks. Beautiful choices!
Definitely white on white. Keeping the entire quilt in the pastels I think, is important. This particular block does not need to "pop" (in my humble opinion)...
My suggestion is to bring out the pink/ mauve color, depends what your color you use for the rest of your decor .

I don't know what color to use as the joiner strips. I think this will be the most important choice for the success of this quilt. My bedroom walls have a cobalt blue in a batik look. I will appreciate suggestions! Elaine |
Beautiful colors. I think that White would be your best bet and seem to tie it altogether. You might audition a very very pale mint green, or possibly a very light almost white yellow and see what that would do. That's looking good there.
The choice you made was the first thing that popped up in my head. Can hardly wait to see it finished.
I think what you have done is stunning, and the color choices are fabulous. What is the name of the quilt pattern? String quilt? I am not good with abreviations. I agree that the blue in the polkadots, the pink, or white. I am afraid too dark a color will overtake the whole beautiful block. You want the wuilt to stand out not the framing. It is just beautiful.
Very nice!
My first thought is something darker to frame them. That is going to be a beautiful quilt. Love the colors.
