The fabric choices take away frome the block, its still a very nice block.

All I can say, is good for you, I made about 50 of those blocks for this quilt...( the small ones around the outside), I hand pieced mine ...don't think I'd want to machine piece.....You done good!!!
I agree you need more contrast so the pattern pops.
I love the block, but the print in the upper right corner is a little large compared to the others. Lots of open space without flowers.
I could deal with the business once you put it all together. The large floral is too large for the pattern you are using it in (cream background) and I would definitely pull out the other cream. Need a little higher contrast vs. the background fabric. You did a great job and it will be a beautiful quilt! :)

The busyness is okay, but you need more contrast. See how the darker blue & pink stand out? you need two like that opposite each other & it will be fine. |

I like your fabrics and pattern, but you do need more contrast. The block is mostly pink.......maybe add more blue ?
nice fabrics but not enough contrast
It is beautiful, love the colors.
I agree, it is a beautiful pattern but what about a little bit more contrast?
in block no 2 Leave the blue that is on top but pull the pink under neath it and than i think you have a good combination.

No critisim from me! I LOVE it just the way it is!! What pattern is it??
I love that block....but....it does need more contrast. Try a few darker pieces.
fabrics are all medium value, put some lights and/or darks with it
I think all the colors & the busy fabrics look good, especially because you have framed it with white. And that's the truth as I see it.
Nice. I think like someone else said, if you add some solids to make your prints stand out, will look great.
I love it just as it is!! Just lovely!! When you set your squares out for your quilt, you might reverse/alternate the squares so that the blue in the first square is on the left, next square it is on the right, etc. It is going to make a beautiful baby quilt. Great job!!
I reconize some of these fabrics from my statch. In the last two pics you have only 7 fabrics not 8. For a baby quilt I would use four fabrics, pink, blue yellow, green and repeat each one opposite themselves. That way it's not too busy
I agree with many others that the block looks lovely. It would be more impactive if it had more contrast. Great job.
The truth is hard to pin down. In the bathtub of history, it is as hard to hold as a bar of soap and much more difficult to find... Terry Prachett. "Sorcery"
Have you thought about using the more solid pink as your background? It would help contrast the other lovely fabrics. Or even half pink half blue background could be fun, sort of a night and day effect. Good luck, you have a fun pattern, neat fabric, and a cute machine to play with! |

Personally, I love it and wouldn't change a thing. It is sooo pretty!

I like the fabric but I think I would either get rid of the two darker fabrics and replace with paler ones or put in a couple of darker ones opposite
I think Quiltmouse has the correct idea, I'd go with her suggestion. Fabrics you've chosen are really pretty. Good luck.
Try rearranging the dark blue and dark pink. Too dark on one side and light on the other. The colors are pretty and you will have a great quilt when finished.
I like scrappy quilts so I am a bit biased in that direction, the more fabrics the better. I think the problem with the block is that the pink and blue on the bottom left are too close in value and scale, it makes that corner visually heavy. Contrast is important when making a block in which the pattern of the block shows up and contrast is not only color and value, consider also scale and density of the print. You did a good job of matching the intersections and I think it is a nice block and would make a very nice quilt. If you are going to make all the blocks with different fabric I would not worry too much about every block being perfect If all the blocks will be the same I would fix that one problem before making all the rest.
looks ok to me... (as for me I am not into florals...)
I agree with others, needs more contrast. :-)
This is gorgeous. Have you happend to look at any Kaffe Fasset quilts?? There is no such thing as too busy! It's a trend right now.
But I love this little block. Waiting to see the finished item. .

If you want to use all your fabric, I would pick another pattern, maybe an ohio star with the center block being one of your florals and then darker points, then use the other colors for small squares trying for a dark against light theme. If you like the pattern, then like the others, you need a little more contrast. I really like all the fabrics, but like someone else said...not all together unless you have some blender fabric that reads as a solid. I think your quilt is going to be great! I do know this, if you like it, go with it. One person's busy is another person's beauty!
Why not try alternating the dark prints with the light prints this would make them pop and remember the wrong side of a fabric can give you the contrast you need. Each of the prints are lovely but you do not have order in contrast and that would give you a better eye flow.
I love it!
