I sewed right into my nail and the tip of the needle broke off right against the bone and had to be surgically removed. I've been to the same ER after taking the tip of a finger off with a rotary cutter.

I think any of my foremothers would have been proud. They would have kept right on sewing!

Like you say...it only takes once to learn a lesson. I did it last year. I was sewing along and I swear the needle jumped over, stuck me, and went right on sewing. I looked at it and could not believe it. For a second I thought it might be possessed. LOL. How dare it bite me as such. But little blood, none on quilt, lesson learned.

hope you're alright ?? Yikes...I'll be dancing around the floor (after it's undone from the needle) and ye-hawing something awful! No accident yet but you may have jinxed me! LOL

This isn't sewing related but I cut the tip of my finger off on my birthday in Feb of this year. Still no feeling in the finger it is numb. I was putting the protected covering on my mandelin blade and slipped. Emergency room here I come. Stitches right through finger nail.

Grandson teethes on this finger as it doesn't hurt. See there is a bright side to everything. LOL
