Both are nice, but I prefer the first one. Must be fun to design quilts on the computer.
|
I like the first one, also, but I sure wouldn't want to try to make it. Be sure to let us see it if you decide to make it.

Heavy chop! Love it!
|
I like your version better, much more movement than the original setting. You just made it your own!!
|
I love your variation. It seems to more movement. Go for it!
|
I like the wrong one much better. Exciting, thrilling. The right one(if you say sooo) is boring compared to the wrong one. Both will be beautiful.
|
I would call the first one, lots more cutting, matching seams and thus much more work. I do like it best.

Doubletime Waves
If your son is in the military,,,I would call it Doubletime Waves....... I think your mistake is great, don't loose the pattern you might think about it and make even though it might be a little more time to do so.

Well, my son finally got back to me on the design and asked me to add something to the design. The original quilt that he saw had a red heart worked into the design. He asked me to color a blue one in on this quilt. He liked the one that the majority of you all liked or the "boo boo" quilt as I call it. This was his final choice of colors and will be my next project. Thanks for all the input. Ann

I love the first one. I'd call it "Vertigo"

I like the Wrong One. I have responded before I saw any other opinions, so I think Wrong One has more movement. I think the yellow squares give it motion. They make it come alive. For example, you can see 4 large circles in the sample you posted. These illusionary circles are not apparent in the Right One pattern. Rich colors are also a bonus and they seem to be visible in he Wrong One!
Good Luck! |
I liked the wrong one:thumbup:....You can call it the other sea,,,lol:D

I like your 'mistake' better. I'd call it Feeding Frenzy at Sea. For some reason it reminds me of fish fighting over food tossed into the water.............maybe I need new glasses or more sleep :-)
|
the one you are referring to as a mistake has a much nicer flow, it gives more movement and creates some very interesting action, aswk which one they prefer, but remember, you are the creater, so talk them into the one you think is best for them

Storm at Night!
It's really pretty too. |
I like the wrong one...
|
How about calling it "Eye of the Storm?"
|
How about "quiet tsunami"?
|
I like the wrong one too ! :)
|
If the intentional one is Storm at Sea, yours could be Hurricane :) I really like it, however.
|
Thanks so much for the PDF showing how you created this beauty! And I really like the additional variation with the dark blue heart! Can't wait to see the finished product. This is one I will definitely put on my ever lengthening list of ones I "just have to do because I like it".

I like the "wrong" one better

Several people have asked if I would share the concepts for how I created this boo boo so I am going to attempt to attach a PDF document that I created for another board member. Hope this works. Just one thing. I think that typically this block is constructed about 12". I made it 24" to make it go together faster. Storm at Sea patterns and directions can be found very easily on the internet. This is just an explanation of process and doesn't give any dimensions. Ann
Thanks for the PDF. |
I like the "wrong" one. It has a lot of motion
|
With the yellow squares, I like lights in the storm.
