Mistake? No mistake at all! This is "Hurricane at Sea"!
The wrong one is the "Perfect Storm" (smile). Both are very beautiful. Will love to see it completed. Thanks for sharing the plans.
A design decision. I do apologize, but I can't see the difference.
How about Jonah's Storm?
They are both really awesome. Would you think of sharing either one?
I like the wrong one better.
I would call it " The Stutter"/ I actually like both of them.

I like yours...really nice...will you share?? lol
Tn Waves. I like it do it. Great beauty there. :):):):)
Way more interesting. I like the "mistake"
I much prefer the first. Maybe you could call it "Ocean Motion".
"The Imperfect Storm"?
Waves of thought
I like your mistake. Very nice! Reminds me of 'Riding the Rapids'. That's what I'd name it.
Love the mistake. Looks it more turbulent - really gives it a lot of motion.
I like the "mistake" one too, but of couse I am not the one who has to do the work :)
I would call it harder.
I would not attempt the wrong one because I am not that experienced. I MIGHT consider the right one... |
the wrong one looks more like a storm to me and I like it. Like the second one too, but is more peaceful looking. could call it calm after the storm. smile

Several people have asked if I would share the concepts for how I created this boo boo so I am going to attempt to attach a PDF document that I created for another board member. Hope this works. Just one thing. I think that typically this block is constructed about 12". I made it 24" to make it go together faster. Storm at Sea patterns and directions can be found very easily on the internet. This is just an explanation of process and doesn't give any dimensions. Ann

One of my recent magazines - American Quilter, I think, has your "Mistake as the pattern & is calling it Storm at Sea. They have it arranged in a rainbow effect. It is fabulous.
I call mistakes like that DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES!!! |
Hurricane?
Call it "perfect storm"
Stormier at sea.
I love the right one, it's gorgeous and simpler.
I like the first one. It's like a kalidiescope!
:o Compared with the new "mistake", the original seems almost boring!
Yep, I'm with the "wrong one" crowd.
Don't know what you should call it but I really like the first one. Like someone said it has more movement. They're both great though. More than I would tackle. Post a pic when you get the fabric one finished
Fortunate.
Hurricane at Sea!...looks like more than a storm, but I really like it too.

I also like the first one - really compelling.
And Dunster - the quilt on that blog site was wonderful. Thanks for sharing it. |
