I try to do something in my quilt room everyday...not always using the sewing machine. Sometimes it is just cutting scraps or looking through/organizing fabric, or tracing pieces for an applique. Just something to keep myself happy!

Nana Julie 02-13-2011 04:08 PM

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to sew in over a month..., shame on me. But I have other things pulling me as well. I made a crocheted baby camo outfit for my latest grandson to come home in---but it was too small!!!

tmjennings 02-13-2011 04:12 PM

I sew everyday now that I am retired. THere was no time to do this when you have a family and work full or part time. Don't feel bad about not sewing everyday. A time will come when you can.

I don't sew every day either unfortunately - there's other things I need to tend to but wish I could sew more often. Am going to try to work on a tote bag this evening while I watch a couple of good programs on PBS.

JeanDal 02-13-2011 04:31 PM

I sew when I am able which I think might average 2-3 times a week.

Latrinka 02-13-2011 04:32 PM

not every single day, but most days

sewgarden 02-13-2011 04:40 PM

At the moment I can't even do it once a month. It's a bit frustrating. I never sew every day unless I'm making something to a deadline

Pieceful Quilter 02-13-2011 04:50 PM

Not every day! Sometimes, not even every week.

neece 02-13-2011 04:52 PM

I made a resolution to do something creative everyday :!: I count going to the library, or sewing or maybe cutting out the squares for a quilt. I really try to sew something everyday. I feel much better about things in general if I sew, especially if it is something for me

Minnisewta 02-13-2011 04:53 PM

I don't sew everyday but I might if I didn't spend so much time here.

jollyquilting 02-13-2011 04:56 PM

I go by spurts, sometimes I am pretty good about spending time quilting and lately I have been very lax.

jojosnana 02-13-2011 04:57 PM

You really are not the only one. I do sew in spurts and sometimes other activities get in the way. But it is an objective to try to sew.......

Taughtby Grandma 02-13-2011 05:02 PM

I don't sew everyday. I work fulltime and watch my 2yo gd 3 afternoons after I get off work. Sewing and 2 year olds do not mix.

Iamquilter 02-13-2011 05:15 PM

I am either sewing or quilting every day.

grandma Janice 02-13-2011 05:15 PM

like some others on the board, I have to be in the mood to sew, even tho I am home all the time. If I sew when I'm not in the mood, I just make one mistake after another. I could never do it as a business.

I quilt/sew by the project. I'll finish a quilt and not touch another for months. Now if I could only quit buying fabric in between!

yellowsnow55 02-13-2011 05:28 PM

[quote=Beth Dishong]I am home on permanent disability so I do get to sew everyday. I would lose my mind if I couldn't sew everyday. I use the machine or work on a project I have that I need to sew by hand. There were many, many years that I worked outside the home and couldn't sew. I hate that I am unable to work any longer but, I love that I can now sew when I want.[/quote Same here, can no longer drive, so spend a lot of time at home sewing.

Ziva 02-13-2011 05:39 PM

No you are not by yourself. I do not sew everyday.

haylillan 02-13-2011 05:44 PM

i don't sew every day either baby sit with g grandson 17months he keeps me hopping

AlisaQuilts 02-13-2011 05:50 PM

I was working two jobs. Sewing? Once a month! last week I quit my full time job and was excited about being able to sew more. Now that I am not going to be working, my family has other plans for me; watching baby, taking MIL to Dr.'s, etc.

Quiltntime 02-13-2011 05:55 PM

Retired now. Want to have time to sew all day, but too many things to do. Errands to run, appts., housework. And, soon yard work. Usually, 3 times a week I get in my sewing rm. Sometimes, only 15 min. at a time. Guess, this is call retirement.

Bltg54 02-13-2011 06:27 PM

No, you are not the only one that does not sew every day. If I am lucky I sew once a week. I work full time. I get home, cook supper and prepare for work the next day. The weekend is when I quilt, plan and sew.

Patricia Ann 02-13-2011 06:45 PM

just got done doing a couch reupholster there was sewing on that not as much as I would like but I had to finish the couch, I am going to make a cover for my piano bench now then start a quilt for kids then I will get my sewing in

fayzer 02-13-2011 07:03 PM

I dusted my machine today. Does that count?

quilterpam 02-13-2011 07:05 PM

nope, you're not the only one.

I do not sew everyday - even I need a day of rest.

sewer 55 02-13-2011 07:28 PM

No, I don't sew every day. First, I have to be in the mood to get everything out to begin to sew; and second, I do have another life.

karenchi 02-13-2011 07:29 PM

Yes, I try to sew every day. Relaxes me!

Quilting Angel 02-13-2011 07:33 PM

I work six days then off seven. The seven that I am off I do sew everyday, but on the days I work, I don't get to sew at all.

1screech 02-13-2011 07:45 PM

I would love to sew everyday. I am retired but I still cannot find the time. Although, I signed up for 15 minutes of play and I have been sewing at least for a few minutes each day.

I love sewing except when somebody says I must!

Berta48 02-13-2011 08:16 PM

No I don't get to sew every day caring for my 93 yr old mom.
And Dh is retired and home now. When he was on the road I would sew from morning until way in the early morning!!!LOL

grammysharon 02-13-2011 08:22 PM

I don't have time to sew everyday but wish I could!! I am retired so I do sew alot

FACESNORTH 02-13-2011 08:33 PM

I do a little hand work every evening to relax

Jennifer22206 02-13-2011 08:38 PM

I get up at 4:30 every morning for my "real" job. Then work till 2, do work for job #2, pick up my daughter, make dinner, grade my kids papers (I teach high school as Job #1), go to the gym, then try to sew. Otherwise I really try to sew on weekends.

danece 02-13-2011 08:42 PM

I sew irregularly, I work a bunch, I have a DD, SIL, GD and DH I take are of in the evenings, so I sew when I can :D

ljorange 02-13-2011 08:53 PM

I went for 29 years without sewing when I worked. Even though I'm retired now I don't sew every day. I feel busier now than when I was working!

Sienna's GiGi 02-13-2011 09:04 PM

I can't sew everyday. I don't think I would if I could. I sew at least three times a week.

oma66 02-13-2011 09:13 PM

I don't sew everyday. There are times I don't want to get away from my machine and quilting, then other times, like this past week, I did not go near my machine.
