Being retired, I do have the time, but have a lot of other interest also...but once I start on a project I might sew for 3 or 4 days in a row...but I have to be inspired also!
So sometimes I wait on inspiration!

grannypat7925 02-13-2011 10:06 AM

I think if I sewed every single day I would be missing a lot. I sew when I'm in the mood.

vivoaks 02-13-2011 10:06 AM

Much as I'd like to, I sometimes will go 2-3 weeks without touching the sewing machine, so don't feel left out. There are probably a lot more of us than you can imagine!

cjmat 02-13-2011 10:14 AM

I don't sew every day.

ajohn52 02-13-2011 10:25 AM

I'm home everyday, but alas I do not sew or quilt everyday. Some days I lack motivation, others I spend all day on the computer reading, looking and playing games. Have lots of sewing quilting that needs to be done, but if I don't feel like sewing or quilting, I've learned not to try.

sandyo 02-13-2011 10:31 AM

wish I could sew everyday

ktmo815 02-13-2011 10:33 AM

I don't get to sew every day either - sure wish I could

Jeri M 02-13-2011 10:40 AM

Oh my NO - I'm lucky if I get to sew one day during the weekend. And now we are packing to thin out the house so we can sell it. Poor Me!!! I will be lucky if I get to sew at all right now :-(

JayCee 02-13-2011 11:29 AM

I wish I could sew everyday but life gets in the way. Once in a while I do get a stretch of 3-4 days in a row in my sewing room.

Ethel Hoffman 02-13-2011 11:31 AM

I am retired live with a daughter and have no real duties to keep me from sewing, health issues limit my sewing time and I sew while I feel like it but not daily. I still enjoy the time I can sew and the projects do get done altho not as fast as I was when I first started. While I was working I sewed in small time areas and on the weekend and made several quilts that was too so you can make them if you like them well enough to stay busy with them and they bring a high reward for years to come

Shari1967 02-13-2011 11:33 AM

I try to sew a couple times a week but if I'm not in the mood it doesn't happen. Wednesday nights were my "designated" time but for the next 3 Wednesday nights I'm gonna sit in a "couponing" class (to hopefully learn how to save money) I know when the nicer weather hits though I won't be inside as much so I get it in now while I can.

Ragann63 02-13-2011 11:37 AM

If I get in one or two days A MONTH, I'm doing good.

me too :) and sometimes on weekends I still don't if something better comes up....like being outside.

lillybeck 02-13-2011 11:48 AM

Sometimes I do not sew for weeks. I do have other things to do although I would love to sit at the machine with some good music on or maybe a good movie playing in the background with no phone and no hubby, lol. Oh, and no dogs

JanetM 02-13-2011 11:57 AM

No, I don't sew everyday...sometimes life gets in the way.

grandme26 02-13-2011 12:33 PM

I sew when I have something special to make.

judy_68 02-13-2011 12:34 PM

I WISH i could sew every day. I work 50 hours a week. No way could I ever have time to sew every day.

desertrose 02-13-2011 12:40 PM

I sewed most of Friday and have spent yesterday and today trying to calm the back spasms down. I loose track of time, do too much and pay for it later. I need to get a loud alarm clock and set the alarm. When it rings the sewing stops. I can't do this to myself any more. I have no deadlines and daily short sessions would prove more productive...Pains a good teacher to learn moderation!

Hen3rietta 02-13-2011 01:14 PM

I don't sew every day. Sometimes not even every week. Mostly it depends on what I'm interested in at the time or what things in life or around the house need to be done. On the other hand, sometimes I sew for a couple of days running if the mood is on me.

pawebdoctor 02-13-2011 01:15 PM

I wish I could sew every day.
I get to sew maybe two - three days a week... though there are times when I do get to sew all day... like yesterday. Between sewing and cutting and measuring... I'd say I got to enjoy eight productive hours! WHOOO HOOOO!!!

ldrussell 02-13-2011 01:17 PM

I don't have the time to sew every day. Doing way to much activa.

Lyncat 02-13-2011 01:21 PM

I don't sew everyday, but I THINK about sewing every day!

Drew 02-13-2011 01:24 PM

Nope, I don't sew every day either. Just too much other things going on. However, I wish I could! (LOL)

obie2 02-13-2011 01:42 PM

I don't sew every day. Some days I don't feel like sewing.

MerryQuilter 02-13-2011 01:53 PM

Almost everyday do a little something but alas, also have to work.

sewingsally 02-13-2011 01:54 PM

I don't sew every day. I wish I could. Sometimes I work as a substitute teacher. I seem to end up with mending and alteration jobs from the other teachers though.

I have begun to sew more since I retired in June...but every day??? Life beckons!

WMUTeach 02-13-2011 01:59 PM

I quilt every day . . . in my head. I am still working full time and often only get to sew/quilt when I can set aside time on a week-end or on occasion an evening. My mind is always planning, refining and planning some more. To me planning is relaxing and creative. So, until the time I retire from my office duties and students, I will be a part time quilter. Holiday and semester breaks and even a rare show emergency day are gifts of time and dedicated to working on what ever quilting project is at hand.

blossom808 02-13-2011 02:01 PM

No I dont sew everyday. But all my material is still on the table.. lol

Country1 02-13-2011 02:01 PM

No but wish my body would let me

Alex J 02-13-2011 02:03 PM

Nope, I work every weekend and during the week two days on the evening shift, the only two days I have off is wednesday and friday. I try to sew on those two days b/c I am in the middle of a project. But some of those days I just want to do nothing, and I do nothing. Life is to short. Quilting is for enjoyment not obligation. If I make myself do something when I don't want to, I am afraid that I will not want to do it anymore b/c I have taken the enjoyment out of it.

Juliebelle 02-13-2011 02:35 PM

I do not sew every day only when the mood strikes me, if I had to do it every day I might not enjoy it as much. That is just me though others enjoy every day.

vwquilting 02-13-2011 02:52 PM

As we have all said not every day or every week life goes but PASSION never ends.

michelehuston 02-13-2011 02:59 PM

I wish I could sew evry day, but I am getting associates degree and between homework and new grandaughter, I don't have time. :(

patski 02-13-2011 03:00 PM

I don't sew every day! I just don't have the time or sometimes the energy

unkin123 02-13-2011 03:09 PM

I am lucky to get a few hours once a week!

katei 02-13-2011 03:13 PM

Every day? - Only in my dreams ;)

jaciqltznok 02-13-2011 03:24 PM

I am lucky if I get an hour a week!

sarahconner 02-13-2011 03:32 PM

I don't work and I sew every single day. It keeps me sane.

Tinabodina 02-13-2011 03:46 PM

No, you aren't alone. I wish I could sew every day, but I just don't have the time. When I sit down to sew, it seems 3 or 4 hours fly by without me being aware. I try to sew 2-4 times a week, but even that is hard.
