I really like table runners or toppers. Not only is it a way to try out a pattern or technique, but I DO use them on my table. I like to switch them out and use holiday themed ones too. They make a quick hostess gift also.

I have been wishing I could find one to buy I have no idea where to go for this. I really like them and would use as many as I had.

I've only just started thinking making some of these would be fun. I donate lots of quilts to Project Linus every year and I think the toppers would be fun around my house :)

I don't always use a runner on my table(s), depending on my 'mood' LOL.
I like to change to look in my livingroom more or less regular, and there for I have sets 1 or 2 runners with matching candlesticks, flowers, pillow covers etc.
I have a set in blue/yellow, in reds and in purples. The sets I don't use at that moment, are in a crate (with lid) in the cellar.

I use them to make a quick change in the decor for the season or holiday without having to make a big fuss. Plus they are fun to make. Lots of them are quick projects that make you feel like you have at least accomplished a little something. They make nice gifts too. Or so I've been told.

I love table runners. Used them for years. We live in a 400 sq. ft. RV and the table runners brighten up all the wood.
I do no like negative topics. Why do we have the need to put down what others like?

I also make a lot of table runners, have given many away and have some for myself - I was once labeled the table runner queen.

I make alot of runners. DD1 has a long table and she love the different ones I make for her! I also put on on the coffee table, love one there and do seesans and holidays!

I use them on just about every flat surface in the house. Saves dusting and they just look good.

I agree with this up to a point, used to donate money regularly until I discovered that a lot of the money that is donated goes on administration and not to the "actual cause" so now I prefer to donate tangible goods knowing they will be used.

You regularly hear of xxx amount of money being donated to this disaster or another yet you never hear of those people suffering through the disaster receiving xxx amount of money each to help with rebuilding for example, while a year or two later when the area affected is revisited you will see a lot of these people still struggling to recover. So what happened to the xxx amount of money that was donated?
