I buy alot from LQS - I can see the fabric and feel it - it is more expensive but I like to do that - I buy precuts online when I find a good deal.
|
I buy anywhere I can. I support my two LQS, and recently purchased some 30's repo prints from Connecting Threads which was beautiful, a kit from Fat Quarter Shop which is very good quality, and I've bought some from places like Seams Like Home in Texas and River City Quilts--forget where they are but their fabric was very nice. Bottom line, I get it locally, online, and definitely when I travel I love going to quilt shops.

HOP (Handcocks of Paducah) or I dye PFD or paint my fabric, and my friend in TN has a small quilt shop and I try to buy from her, to keep her going LOL

also from ontario canada, i recently received my first order from connecting threads, it seemed somewhat thin and i suspect stiffened with filler. most here have said that they like their fabric, so i will see. i do like hancocks of paduca. my lqs is so costly, 16.98 a yard, rarely has sales, tho very fine fabric, another shop 30k away has good sales twice a year. i miss the 'fabricland' that closed and the vanished fabric from walmart.

Go to Ryko's often. Only live 30 minutes away. The selection is great. They have fabric for everything, tons of ribbons and trims.

Lots on our local annual shop hop trip, would have to say more in person not so much on line. But occasionally from Keepsake, Conn Threads or few other on line shops.

Online seems to be THE thing for me latey. Haven't felt like venturing out into the cold to hit the LQSs here...and I'm only 35 minutes away from Fabric Shack in Waynesville! Love Fabric.com and Connecting Threads has wonderful fabric...now that they have gone into batiks and brights (apologies to those who like the darker prints!)

Usually Joanns...not a lot of choices around here. I can get some at a walmart 20+ miles away (last one in area with a fabric dept). I tend to use my stash 90% of the time but I buy solid sheets a lot. I'm not so concerned with fabric content, I just buy what I love. I can't afford LQS prices since I'm not working :(
I just splurged this morning though, I haven't bought fabric online for 4 or 5 yrs, had fabric in my cart at 2 online stores & ended up buying it on etsy because it was the same price but easier to navigate, I mean almost 2 hrs spent in the stores getting frustrated, it was driving me nuts! I got 2 charm packs I can't wait to receive! |
