Thank you, sjdal, for this link. I think I will order my signature machine quilting thread from them because I seem to be having trouble finding a store that carries it for this price. Of course I have to compare the shipping too but, golly, look at all those choices. I really need hyacinth but may not find it. :( Must have discontinued it.

Wherever I get a real bargain----and that means cheap price but good quality.

I try to always buy from LQSs. If we don't, I'm afraid that more of them will close and then where will we go to "pet" fabrics and attend classes? I have on occasion bought online if I am trying to get something that I can't find locally. I try not to shop at big box stores because they will survive without my financial assistance, but my LQS may not.

I buy everything from local shops. We do have 2-3 shows in my area a year and I love to go see what other shops bring.

I like to support the local quilt shops- I appreciate the classes they offer and any assistance that I need. It's worth it to me to pay more just for the support!

If you are looking for designer quilt fabric, quilthome.com is excellent. I only buy whats on sale and they ship free with $50. Also, they always ship priority mail.
Sometimes you can get Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler etc. for $5.97 a yd.

I have never ordered online, tho' I do buy other things this way. I am so tactile, I need to touch, stroke, pet and caress the fabrics I choose. Would miss this on line, tho' can appreciate those who don't have fabric shops nearby using this venue. May have to try this if the prices keep going up!
