ANYTHING that is dyed will most likely be different from one batch to another. I'm betting your grandson won't care even if you show him so don't let it get to you.

Gives it dimension! Just say you planned it this way. It is so darling!

I barely see it, had to look really hard. It's a great I spy.

Black is the worse. Nothing more frustrating for me than trying to match Kona cotton.

Thank you so much everyone! I definitely feel better about it now :) I have a terrible habit of pointing out all the flaws in things I make because I always think that people have seen them anyway but they always reply with "I hadn't even noticed!" So, I won't say anything and I know my grandson will love it! He is two and a half and when I made his little sister's quilt, he took it in his hands, examined it and said "Wow!", so I am very excited about handing over his quilt with all the little pictures.
I put each picture in twice so that he could play 'I Spy' as well as the matching game. Thanks again for all the positive input. |
Vicki, first of all, I love your quilt and barely see any difference in colour. We are all guilty of being our own worst critic at one time or another. Where did you find all your lovely I spy blocks? I would love to make something like this for an upcoming great niece or nephew but don't have a lot of time to collect the different blocks.

great quilt!! with the floating thing it is not visible!!!
|
I know you're frustrated....and it's obvious the amount of work you put into this....but it really is a great quilt for your grandson....and he will never notice what you see....he will just know that his grandma loves him and made him a wonderful, fun, cuddly quilt.

It looked great as I rode by...I really can't see anything wrong.
|
I think it looks great! I probably would have thought the color difference was how you planned it if you would not have said anything
