I just borrowed a quilting book by Victoria Findlay Wolfe from the library. It has DWR designs made with scraps and fabrics. She has another book called 15 Minutes of Play which I have not seen yet. Scraps of all kinds and sizes are sewn together into "fabrics" which are then used for quilt projects, sounds like fun!!! I plan to look for the book. Just think, there could be a drastic decrease of scraps :D !

I guess my response is both a suggestion and a question. Couldn't you use clothes? I am new to sewing/quilting and as I cleaned out my closet I took some clothes that are either too small or so out of date that I cut them apart to use as scraps. Put them in groups of cotton, knits and mixed materials. Jeans that are unwearable (hubby goes through jeans like crazy) and so I am just going to cut them up and use them for totes, baskets for storing supplies and maybe piece together for a apron. My son is a restless sleeper and moves a lot and creates a hole in his fitted sheets an so I m going to cut that part out and have the rest to use for quilting. He buy 800 to 1500 thread count so nice material. He buys fitted in full and flat in queen, we take the queen fitted but that leaves the full flat left over.

I bought a Moda scrap bag a few years ago from a quilt shop that was in a quilt shop hop. I really liked it. I haven't seen them anymore though unless you can buy them online.
