I have done that but all it did was mess up the timing and I had to have it fixed. Is he sure the shaft is bent just from hitting a pin? It seems drastic that it bent the shaft, those things are solid metal. Is it possible to get another opinion?

I have a Sapphire 870 and hit a safety pin a couple of weeks ago for the first time ever. Thank God I had glasses on because the needle broke into 3 pieces. Also My machine still works fine since them so I am extremely lucky. I'm sorry for your problem and know how frustrating it must be when you have 5 quilts you need to finish. I hope your Sapphire has a speedy recovery!!

That is so sad. I feel for you. I have been lucky and have just broken pins, I am assuming because the safety pin is thicker is what caused the problem. I have never used safety pins. Really sorry, hope he gets it fixed fast.

I have forgotten to change a foot several times and it resulted in a broken needle and nothing more. I have a Pfaff Quilt Epxression 4.0. I am sorry yours was damaged and needed repair. Good luck getting your quilting done by Christmas.

So sorry about your problems! I was without my embroidery machine one time from Nov until Jan. It was devastating! Maybe you'll get your machine back soon!
