I am sure it will be repaired to "like new" condition. Unfortunately, we all learn from something we've done that doesn't work. You wouldn't want to know all the things I've learned this way. Good luck...

I did that with my Baby Lock Esante while embroidering. Got too confident and walked away from machine. BIG MISTAKE. the embroidery foot loosened and the needle came down and hit it. Messed everything up. Would not sew at all. Jammed the computer I guess. Cost me #139.00 to get it fixed. Needless to say I no longer leave the machine while doing embroidery any more.

So sorry. Can you get a loner or even rent one from the folks who took your Sapphire for repair?

It happened to me with my LAM. First tech that fixed it left out a screw. Second tech "cracked" the head" and couldn't get it back together. By the time the third tech got it, it was so far out of timing that I had to send it back to the factory to be reworked. In the meantime it was my busiest time of the year and could not be without my LAM, without losing a lot of business. Bought a second head for the LAM. Now I have two LAM heads in case I ever have down time.

I have hit the foot many times on my Brother and have not had any damage. It is so hard to remember to change the foot sometimes. The machine makes a lot of noise, but I just turn it off. Get the right foot and start over. Sorry for your plight. I hate to pay out anything for maintenance, but guess it comes with the hobby.

Thanks for the reminder not to sew over pins! I have 2 work horses which are very old and a Viking which I have to treat very gently; it can't do the work my other two do but I like the varied stitches on the newest one, so I'll keep it for "special" tasks.

Some of the ladies in the local quilting guild have spare machines. Maybe you can find a local friend who will let you use one of her machines.

So sorry for your situation, I have two backup machines to use when I mess up, I also have bent a shaft on my viking by using the wrong foot! And I agree they must be made out of tin foil, now I recheck everything before sewing. I don't like to use it for FMQ, I use my old NewHome. 30 years old and still sews like a dream!
