That is so nice. I just hope the other people in the platoon have quilts on their beds, too. I bet they want one, if they don't have one. This is where I should probably make one for one of the service personnel.

We do need a love or like button on this forum. Thank him for his service and he will really like it when his feet don't stick out. LOL.
I make fleece throws for members of my family and relatives. I make them 60" wide and always longer than they are tall. I have a 6'4" brother and I made his 2 1/2" long to accomodate his long body. He tells me everytime he sees me that he loves it. They are good for tv watching or to go to football games.

As a mother, I felt my eyes well up with tears when I read your story. It must make you feel good knowing your son loves you so much and appreciates the quilt you so lovingly made for him.

Please thank your son for his service to our country.

I know the feeling. I made my son a quilt after he graduated Navy boot camp and it traveled with him. He is now back home with his quilt, after 5 years in the Navy, but how he is trying to get into the Coast Guard. I guess I'll have to see if I can find Coast Guard fabric. :)

Thank you for this story and please, thank your son for his service. Wish all our men and women who serve this country had a quilt of their own to take with them also.
