I looked at that beautiful GINGER cutter until I just had to have it. Beautiful to look at, but I needed to rip out the seams in a pair of jeans. Don't try that! Now it won't cut a thread without a lot of pressure. Really did dull the blade.

i didnt buy the mat and I wont spend 70 on it. my olfa mat is just fine.

sorry about my input, I was thinking about the seam ripper.

Where did you order it from? I have arthritis and would love to have something that is easier on my wrists.

JoAnn's has them for $29.99 (60mm) so may be a deal with the 40% coupon. I've started to have problems with my right hand and you all have convinced me that I need this. Do you have to purchase Martelli blades or will others work?

I bought one last year and it's great for taking off the pressure on my hand. The only problem I have is that I can use both hands for cutting so since this is right or left hand specific, I only use it at my large cutting mat only after I've made the first cut with my other cutter (if that makes any sense).
Other than that, I like this cutter. I should buy one for left-handed and that would solve my problem. |
Got mine at the International Quilt Fest. in Houston. they stand behind their product. It's the best. The blades rarely need to be sharpened.

The ruler, mat, and rotary cutter were my big purchases at Paducah last year. I love them all. I am a very conservative person and saw them demonstated many times before I bought. Why did I wait so long? I have several mats and a number of rotarty cutters, but these are the best. Be sure to watch the video if you order a cutter. You stand to the side to cut, instead of right in front of the ruler. Makes a difference.

HI Cratfy It is very well worth it. Many times easier for your wrist. I have used one a few times and got one this last week at the sew expo... I have there binder tool too that goes on the machine fold the binding as you sew....
