I have a radio on to Country music all day long.

steelecg 02-26-2011 06:22 AM

I like light classical - My favorite is "Time to Say Goodbye"

hootnannie 02-26-2011 06:39 AM

I have a boom box since the 80s that plays tapes or CDs in my sewing room. Audio books a must while I sew. If I put music on, I move to much (dancing) to accomplish anything. lol

GladGrams 02-26-2011 06:40 AM

Classical music or sound books. ;)

Nolee 02-26-2011 06:43 AM

I listen to tapes of Dr. Charles Stanley or podcasts of our local church.

I listen to audiobooks on my iPhone while piecing or quilting. Right now I am listening to "The Girl Who Knew Too Much." It's a great way to multi-task, since I couldn't read a printed book while sewing!

dede 02-26-2011 07:16 AM

I can't quilt without it ... I'm trying to get our church ladies to play music while they quilt too... that's another story! When my friend and I quilt together, it's ALWAYS Daniel O'Donnell (Irish singer) who sings every kind of music from religious to easy listening to some country. He appears in Branson, MO quite regularly and does concerts throughout the Midwest especially. He is great to listen to... so light and upbeat all the time! At home when I quilt alone, it's anything but mostly "world" music - reggae, hip-hop, religious (Gaithers and Signature Sound are great), and easy listening (Westlife, Lionel Richie), and even some Akon (from Senegal, Africa). MUSIC IS MY THING so almost any kind works for me but quilting needs to be really special! It's my 'OTHER THING'... the main thing is to ENJOY IT!

puck116 02-26-2011 07:32 AM

I do! I do!

BJ SewKkrazzy 02-26-2011 07:41 AM

Christian talk, classic rock...love Cher's songs; Neil Diamond; Elvis of course; My cd player will hold 5 cd's and I can rock out as I stitch!

Linda Loo 02-26-2011 07:41 AM

Me, me, Me!!!!! I LOVE listening to classical music while sewing or quilting. Love jazz as well. Both really get me in the "groove".

maxtruax32 02-26-2011 07:53 AM

I have a radio/CD player, I listen to PBS classical station, Josh Grobin. Susan Boyle, Jackie Evanko, Gospel; all kinds.

judykay 02-26-2011 08:03 AM

I also listen to Pandora radio and love it . I have it set to my music and have it going whenever I am in the room.

Scakes 02-26-2011 08:11 AM

My hand is waving in the air too. I have my ipod set up on a speaker/charging station in my sewing room. Also have a DVD player with a stack of musicals to play. Can't watch it really well while I'm sewing but I love listening to the music.

Homemother 02-26-2011 08:31 AM

AUDIOBOOKS!!! I get lost in a story and the stitches fly at the same time!!!

Jimmy Buffett for me. He keeps me going,

laughingquilter 02-26-2011 08:51 AM

I listen to music anytime I'm "in my cave" - it just completes that feeling of well being and satisfaction for me.

jeaninmaine 02-26-2011 08:53 AM

Country if I'm hand sewing, soft rock if I'm machine sewing. Adam Lambert's Strut if I'm exercising.

I listen to what my son calls my beer joint music. I like Bob Seger, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana & John Lee Hooker & the old blues guys but I also listen to rock. Some moldy oldie, some middle & some today. Got to have my back ground noise.

Dianne1 02-26-2011 08:59 AM

Love to listen to Country music. Waylon Jennings, George Jones, JR. Love what you would call traditional. Can't seem to get it together without the music.

Those are the types of singers I call soft rock. Love them all.

aronel 02-26-2011 09:26 AM

I listen to country every time I'm in my sewing room/office.

bbmom1989 02-26-2011 09:52 AM

I listen to either public broadcasting, the sports talk/game station or occasionally music. It helps to have something in the background then I don't cue into what else might be going on in the house (the husband and adult son) that might distract me!!

I love Daniel O'Donnell also and have been to Branson several times to see him. always watch when he is on PBS.

I have about 2,000 songs in my computer and some nice speakers hooked up to it. It's in my sewing room and I listen to almost anything from classic rock to classical, or if I'm in the mood I'll get an audio book on CD's from the library to listen to instead.

Grandma Peg 02-26-2011 11:19 AM

Listen to country music on my computer. Need the noise.

lbosma 02-26-2011 11:36 AM

Sirus/XM Radio online for me. Love channel 163 for the books and channel 32 for Christian music. Unfortunately they moved my talk radio favorites channel 158 and 165 to a higher subscription level online, those stinkers.

Dae Kuczma 02-26-2011 11:47 AM

I ALWAYS do.........music calms the soul.

GlitzyMe 02-26-2011 12:04 PM

Neil Diamond is my music companion. Are there other singers? hahaha.....I also have a tv, dvd and tape player in the sewingroom. Everyone needs company. Oh excuse me - I mean along with the purrs and woofs.

Nolee 02-26-2011 12:05 PM

When I do listen to music, it is 50s, 60s oldies and I sit on the stability ball for my balance and sore hamstring. Of course, Elvis always warms my heart.

Have any of you ever tried "Upchucky.com"? Sounds awful but you can listen to music from all the way back in the 40s on it with a constant change of songs. Here is the link:

Me too!! I have to have something on in the background. I listen to our local Christian station online, my radio doesn't get it in very well. Here's the link just in case someone is looking for a good one. life1019.com

Mamawcj 02-26-2011 12:16 PM

I always have music on. Yanni, Josh Groban, Sarah McLaughlin, Kenny G, sometimes country or 50's. I've been known to dance with my Min. Poodle, Dani or my Diesel Cat.

fabricmaniac 02-26-2011 12:48 PM

I always have my iTunes running off my Macintosh in my studio, with a mix of all my favorite CDs.... Josh, Charlotte Church, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Chris Botti, Katherine McPhee, Jane Olivor, Linda Eder, Elaine Paige, Sarah Brightman, Andean pan flutes, etc. etc.. Love Irish/Celtic music... Loreena McKennitt, Enya; and most broadway music as well... I really like almost everything as I sang my whole life... school, church, Sweet Adelines, Chorale. Music and quilting are my soul! I am MADLY, MADLY in love with Chris Botti for the present. He gives me total shivers with his incredible trumpet - THE BEST!!!!! He is trumpeter for Sting, and I've always been crazy about HIM!!

susanwilley 02-26-2011 12:50 PM

I have a variety of music, oldies, country, rock, downloaded onto my Bose surround sound that I play when I'm sewing. As long as my husband isn't home watching TV. I have a small cheap stero CD player I use when he is home.

Sharonsews 02-26-2011 01:11 PM

I listen to music or a book on cd while sewing. If the family is around, I will listen to the tv, son's school day or just family talk.

AnnieH 02-26-2011 01:17 PM

I listen to Radio 4. Can't do without it.

Love the Gaithers and used to watch them on TV every Friday night. Now they are on an hour later and I'm usually in Lullaby Land by then. I sure do miss them.
