I like "Material Connection"
There is a place here called "A stitch in time" so a domain may be hard to get if you want an online option. |
QUILTN, or QUILTN GRANNY'S, the TN for Tennessee, short and sweet.

I don't think you need to add Granny to the name. You look way too young for that. People will come in looking for a "Granny". They will ask you if your Gramma is in! lol
|
Quilt .... creative
how about: Quiltivity where quilting creativity flows |
Hi, I'm not new to the "reading the message" or checking out everyone's great pictures, just new to joining in with an opinion. How about the name, "The Fabric Stash"?

How about Sew 'N Sew Quilt Shop?

I like
Granny's Country Quilt Shop Granny's Country Quilts Etc. The Hen House Quilt Shop The Hen House Granny's Hen House Country Quiltin' Granny's Country Quiltin' Quilts, etc Country Quilts etc. I like the Granny in it because it gives a warm feeling, almost everyone has a great experience with their granny. You certainly don't have to be very old to become a grandmother. Also I like to have quilt or quilting in the name, because it identifies the product. Good luck, I think that is very quilters dream and it is great your husband is supportive. Be sure to set up a great web site, I buy most of my fabric on line. |

Sew What Sew Crazy Oh, I know..........how about Patchwork Palace. You could have a crown hanging on the last letter. People remember things like that. |
How about "Quilt Country" for a name?
Simple, short and sweet. Pati, in Phx |
Phyllis's County Fabrics, Quilts and More
Tennessee Country Quilting and More Phyllis's Tennessee Country Fabric Charms and More <your town's name> Quitlting and More Corner Phyllis's Country Fabric Corner and More The last I came up with ismy favorite! Good Luck at nameing your store! |
Hmmmm, Phyllis be sure to look into the cost of signage! It might be different where you are but here in CA the longer the name, the higher the cost...and I mean HIGH. Used to own a pizza shop and we tried to keep the name short. But our sign had to have individual letters, thereby the high cost. Signs that are one long piece illuminated behind the name over the plastic might now be as costly.
as to a name suggestion I'll think about it after I see some of the other suggestions. hey, how bout ... warm quilt hugs? warm quilt hugs, Sue in Ca |
O.k. Friday morning 6/11/10, will be the cut off limit for name suggestions.
I have so many to choose from now! You all have been great! Who knew they were so many possibilities!? It will be a while before I announce the name as I don't want someone to steal it and then not be able to have it. It will take a little while to get it registered and the business licensed. It will then be a longer while until a store will be opened since we need a name even before we get further in the process. Continue your good thoughts and prayers. I will keep you updated. Happy Quilting Phyllis |
Phyllis, I can't think of a name at the moment, but I sure hope this all works out for you! It would be so exciting to start your own quilt shop. We could all support you with on-line orders! Definitely keep us posted on your progress!

If you are in the trees about Quilting in the Woods?
Are you close to Nashville? We went shop hopping around Nashville and found shops scarce. We found one in Goodlettsville that was very nice, the only other shop we found was on the south side of Nashville, it was a mess. We were very disappointed there were no more quilt shops in that area. |
Phyllis' Phabric Petting Phun
Grannie's Fabric Cuddles and Hugs I wish you and your DH much success. I think we all carry a hidden desire to open our own quilt shop. You go girl! |
Country Quilting Concession!
|
You also want something that starts at the beginning of the alphabet in order to record it in the phone book as that goes alphabetically!

There are many many cute names out there that the domain names are already gone for that reason I would put Phyllis in the name. OTOW, if you want to sell it later you would want the name to be more generic. I will dream on it. |

My suggestion is: Quilting Grannie's Fabric and Quilt Shop. I will concede my recognition to topper1. ............ I am on my edit time now. I thought of an execellent idea!!!!!!!!!!!! A bed & breakfast along with your quilt shop!!!!!!!!!! Think of the retreats you'd pull in. Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!! I'm not good with picking names either...But I do hope your wishes come true and work out for you. |
How about "Happy Quilting with Phyllis"
or "Phyllis' Happy Quilting" love all the suggestions Good Luck |
Not really a name suggestion here but I belong to a gift retailers forum and saw this today in their semi weekly email. Thought it would be some interesting reading about other quilt shops and what they have done to be successful!
Hope I did this right! - Patti http://www.giftshopmag.com/news/2010...ove_the_needle |

I really liked "The Stitchin' Post" but I would add Phyllis to it (because I will bet that stitchinpost.com is probably taken already).
"Phyllis' Stitchin' Post" is my suggestion. But I'm usually much better with band names :P When you do figure out your name, grab the URL right away. Godaddy.com sells 1 year domains for 10-15 dollars. (My quilting business is "Wendy's Handmade Quilts" - but I'm not a brick & mortar store) |
Country Quilting or Country Quilting Store and More.
