Inquiring minds want to know :D Whats the name of the block. It iis a great design!!

bluadept 03-16-2011 02:12 AM

I think it is fine as it is. What is the name of the pattern and of the angel/fairy fabric and where did you get it?

severna 03-16-2011 02:22 AM

The dark blue predominates. Its tone is darker than the others
In the background of the lady notice there are light aqua and turquoise colors. Try a batik with those colors.
Happy quilting
Severna

I wouldn't change a thing! It's gorgeous as is!!

east side quilter 03-16-2011 03:25 AM

I would take the white and cut up the girl fabric and use that in it's place.

Flapper 03-16-2011 03:54 AM

I like it the way it is. What's the pattern?

cassie69emt 03-16-2011 04:01 AM

I love it especially how you framed the picture of the fairy in it

judylg 03-16-2011 04:03 AM

It looks more than right to me! Beautiful!

A beautiful piece. I think that the outer blueish/green fabric is too much the same value as the fairies piece. Possibly changing that outer fabric to match the golden hair of the fairies would be more striking. Good luck.

SimpleCook29 03-16-2011 04:24 AM

Dont change ANYTHING. I love it!

Rumbols 03-16-2011 04:44 AM

Lovely block. I like it the way it is. Beautiful fabrics.

emerald46 03-16-2011 04:51 AM

That is gorgeous. Wouldn't change a thing. Can't wait to see whole quilt.

Vat 03-16-2011 04:55 AM

I agree with Dorothy, I think I might try switching the purples. The darker seems to be taking over the center motif and I don't think you want that. And I also might like the lighter green all over. Love the pattern.

khlrkat 03-16-2011 05:06 AM

I would not change it love the colors, what pattern is it

SandyMac 03-16-2011 05:08 AM

I like your block the way it is .

Crafty Chick 03-16-2011 05:14 AM

Ditto-leave it alone-don't mess with perfection! Lovely colors-you have a great eye for them.

Sallyflymi 03-16-2011 05:19 AM

I agree that you should leave it like it is. Great Quilt. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

sidmona 03-16-2011 05:25 AM

I think it is perfect the way it is, especially after seeing the blocks together.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The block is beautiful but seems that maybe there should be more contrast between the light purple and green.
I'm sure that whatever you decide will be beautiful.

gmcsewer 03-16-2011 05:40 AM

The bottom triangle should be dark to ground the flower girl. In flower arranging they teach to put the darker flowers at the bottom and work up to the lighter. See what you think.

illinois 03-16-2011 05:42 AM

Like some of the others, I wonder what it would look like switching the placements of the 2 purples. I haven't noticed that anyone has suggested repeating the dark purple in the white space and I wonder what that would do. I think it's that very light piece that's giving you trouble. I love your block and your colors--other than the stark white one. Where did you find your angel piece? Very nice.

Para722 03-16-2011 05:42 AM

I would reverse the two purples. Just a thought.

asmmauer 03-16-2011 05:44 AM

I would not change a thing .Cut a center block before you make any changes and then decide what you think. It is beautiful ,love your color choices and fabric.

Shirlrh 03-16-2011 05:53 AM

I like it! Such pretty colors.

Deborah12687 03-16-2011 05:55 AM

I would go with a very light lilac in the center. Just a hint of the color. It is a very beautiful block that you made.

mhansen6 03-16-2011 06:01 AM

I love it and I want the pattern please. Can you give me a link to where I could find it?

katlady 03-16-2011 06:03 AM

Take the green out & put in a shade of purple, as there is no green in the block any place.

mimistutz 03-16-2011 06:19 AM

Looks good. May I suggest maybe a golden color for the middle? like the color of the hair maybe. I'm new, but that's what felt.

Cris 03-16-2011 06:22 AM

Its beautiful - I wouldn't change, but you are the one who has to love it!

Nanaof4 03-16-2011 06:28 AM

My vote is for as is. Beautiful!

quiltingranny 03-16-2011 06:31 AM

IMHO I like it just the way it is. It's beautiful.

I agree, I think that would work well. Right now there seems to me there really isn't quite enough contrast between the lighter purple and the outside green.

SandyQuilter 03-16-2011 06:38 AM

Assuming that the white is going to be set in the middle, making four blocks, you'll end up with a rather large white center. I feel that this will distract from the lovely colors that you've used in the rest of the block. Try switching the white to a less stark color--soft lavender or teal, for example.

It's going to be great when finished.

Sandy

I think it is perfect just as it is. Wouldn't change a thing!

I think she said that the white is just paper and that she hasn't decided what to use in place of the white.

I love it! If I changed anything, as noted above, I would change the center. Maybe to something from the warmer color range. Golden yellow.

bluesnowdoe 03-16-2011 07:01 AM

I think that it is perfect the way it is. It is a beautiful block.

celwood 03-16-2011 07:21 AM

I like the way it looks now. I think the green would take away from the angel which is focus of square.

bink 03-16-2011 07:33 AM

I think it is striking as is
I really like it
