We would like to know what the name of the block is.

ggreenridley 03-16-2011 07:39 AM

It looks fine to me and lovely.

LindaKayCat 03-16-2011 07:41 AM

I love it the way it is. I think the bright green might detract from the angels.

upearly13 03-16-2011 07:50 AM

What do you want to emphasize? Right now the background fabric creates a soft foresty color base--with a neat echo in the purple of the flowers. Your fairies do look like they are blossoming out of fantastic purple flowers! Very cool effect. I like the brighter green towards the center and them maybe a touch of that yellow in the center?

I would not change ANYTHING that you have in there so far! It's absolutely beautiful!

Jean Fry 03-16-2011 07:53 AM

Very pretty. I think I would go with a muted green.

Heartwarming quilts 03-16-2011 07:58 AM

I like it the way it is. Beautiful block! Who's the quilt for?

Aunt Bea 03-16-2011 08:03 AM

I would change the corner blocks to be the same material as the green background so it doesn't detract from that background. Your block is beautiful.

gal288 03-16-2011 08:05 AM

I love the fussy cut, looking good,I wouldn't change a thing.

grandma anna 03-16-2011 08:07 AM

I like it a lot just the way it is.

EagarBeez 03-16-2011 08:14 AM

it's beautiful, but, I have to agree with the others, using green

timepasser 03-16-2011 08:42 AM

I really like it the way it is, very pretty

Birdena 03-16-2011 08:48 AM

I cant see anything wrong, like it just like it is.

IDquilter 03-16-2011 09:01 AM

At first i thought the colors blended too much, but once you put them all together I like it. Maybe just make one block changing the colors and see what you think. Can't wait to see the finished project.

lance1quilts22 03-16-2011 09:22 AM

 IMHO I would not change any thing your block is fantastic

This was my thought. Maybe the bright green could be the "center" square. BTW, beautiful block and fabrics.

Gatormom3 03-16-2011 11:31 AM

My first reaction was to replace the bright green strip with the background fabric. I tend you like softer colors. It is, however, a beautiful block just as it is.

benjafroo 03-16-2011 12:02 PM

Is this from a pattern? I would love to make this.

sammy89 03-16-2011 12:55 PM

love it just the way it is

Robin Lynn 03-16-2011 01:01 PM

I would be counting myself lucky if I could make something that nice. I love it.

I love the way it is. The drabber (if that is what we may call it) green does not take away from the beautiful print. The print stands out as I believe it should. Just my thoughts. I love the pattern. Really, really pretty.

bettysew 03-16-2011 01:51 PM

It is absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't change anything about it. Beautiful as is.

Kimmy P 03-16-2011 02:29 PM

I think it looks beautiful. My two favorite colors, purple and green. Love it!!!

nabobw 03-16-2011 02:34 PM

I think it looks great but if you are not pleased try it with the green. You can always change it.

madelinkk 03-16-2011 02:36 PM

Don't change a thing. It's beautiful.

red-warrior 03-16-2011 02:37 PM

I love it as is! Great colors and wonderful block.

Covered in Threads 03-16-2011 02:37 PM

Your fairies delicately placed in the center of your flowers look wonderful. can't wait to see the finished project.

fairydawn 03-16-2011 02:42 PM

I like it as it is. The outside fabric softens it more than the bright green would. I think I would put something with a bit of blue in the center to pick up the blue in the fairy piece. It's very pretty!

Marilynsue 03-16-2011 02:51 PM

Love it as is!

vlok 03-16-2011 03:05 PM

I like it the way it is. Try it with the Bright green and see.

judyhh 03-16-2011 03:12 PM

i THINK IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE THE BATIKS ON THE SIDES, IT BLENDS IN WONDERFULLY. I'D SAY "JOB WELL DONE" . BUT I AM A VERY BEGINNING QUILTER...... HANG IN THERE, YOU'RE DOING GREAT.

Mumzbear 03-16-2011 03:13 PM

Wouldn't change anything! It is beautiful!

dove 03-16-2011 03:13 PM

i think it's gorgeous as is!!!

laalaaquilter 03-16-2011 03:39 PM

I would replace the bright green with a green more like the buds behind the fairy's head.

jitkaau 03-16-2011 03:59 PM

I don't think it is just one of the other colours, it is all of them. ONLY because the girl/fairy that you want to be the centre focus of your block is overwhelmed by the colours surrounding her. That is why I think you are disappointed. The combination of the other colours is fine. They look good together, and I would not go for the all green tone. One or two suggestions from me:
1. Find a stronger subject to put in the centre of the block.
2. Choose lighter tones of the same colours if you want to keep the fairy as your focus fabric.
I like the Art Deco design of the block - reminds me of lead light panels from that era.

Rose Bagwell 03-16-2011 04:04 PM

I love the way it looks now . I myself would use the dark purple in the center or a gold. I like bright colors. What is the name of the block and is it paper pieced.

Rose Bagwell 03-16-2011 04:04 PM

I agree on that one.

Happy Tails 03-16-2011 04:12 PM

Are u crazy??????????????????? That's absolutely breath-taking...smarten up!!!! lol

bamamama 03-16-2011 04:16 PM

I vote leave it just the way it is. It's perfect.
