Welcome from New Hampshire where it was a frigid -15*F last night!
I know what you mean about feeling inferior. I always feel that way when I go to quilt shows. They are both intimidating and inspiring at the same time. I never think I can "do" what others have done. You are two steps ahead of me. (1) you are almost ready to quilt a top and (2) you own a longarm machine. I have multiple tops that need sandwiching and quilting (I think I am the queen of tops) and unfortunately I don't have the room nor the funds for a longarm machine. I don't have any specific ideas for quilting designs but the wonderful members here on QB can probably help you with this. Whatever design you do choose, remember there is no such thing as the Quilt Police! (Although I do have many patrolmen running around in my head when I quilt...and they're not all young and good looking either! LOL) Anita |
Welcome from Arizona.

Welcome from Florida. I am no help whatsoever. Layering and quilting are my least favorite part of making a quilt. So….I put it off until I have too. Now I know why so many quilters only seem to make lap quilts, baby quilts and table runners.

Nice to have you join in GrandMommy! This is only my second post. I have also been on the sidelines looking in on the QB for quite a while now. I have found it to be a great resource and source of inspiration! I plan to be more interactive this year. Yes, I just revealed a 2014 resolution...
Hunter's Star is an awesome quilt. Did you use any special ruler or pattern? My suggestion for quilting would be to chose something with smooth, easy movements....maybe curls/swirls. |
Welcome! I just bought my long arm and have only quilted three quilts but I've been studying the quilts posted here and seeing what will work for my own. Do a search (box on the right in header) for Hunters Star and see what others have done.

Welcome to QB! No ideas on how to quilt it. If you went to the pictures section of this Board and then typed in Hunter's Star, that might give you some ideas...if there are Hunter's Stars in the pictures. Good luck! Glad you've come aboard!
