New idea--humorous, not serious

Seems like on TV, there is one reality show after another. I told my hubby we need to come up with a quilty reality show...In Search of Fabric...Touring the Quilt Shops. He popped out with what I think would be a winner: Show Us Your Stash!

Any other ideas here?

sewbeadit 07-24-2013 04:54 PM

I think this is a cool idea, when is it going to air?:p

Lori S 07-24-2013 05:15 PM

I think they could combine a few with Hoarders !

hopetoquilt 07-24-2013 05:40 PM

and combine with Real Stories from the ER...

needle through the finger
sliced by a rotary cutter
near drowning in fabric.

LTeachergeorge 07-24-2013 05:41 PM

Lori S, a little too true to be funny!! :o

dunster 07-24-2013 05:47 PM

That's one reality show that I would actually watch!

Hulalulu 07-24-2013 06:04 PM

You may laugh at this - however there was a visiting ER Doc here, he quilts -- and has made a study of rotary blade injuries...you wouldn't believe some of his stories!

Have you been to my sewing room or what? Well it isnt quit that bad but getting close I am a very messey person when I am creating. I do however manage to keep my house picked up but sewing craft room is a big cluttered mess

tessagin 07-24-2013 06:19 PM

That's because you're in the sewing room and not any other part of the house quilting. LOL!

bearisgray 07-24-2013 06:21 PM

Quilter's wills

bearisgray 07-24-2013 06:23 PM

Where and how we stash (hide) our stashes

Rose S. 07-24-2013 06:25 PM

I am loving the replies to this...

RyanAmysMom 07-24-2013 07:02 PM

I'm thinking a show me your UFO show..... that would never run out of episodes!

pocoellie 07-24-2013 07:05 PM

I think it's a great idea. When do you/we start filming?

Cybrarian 07-24-2013 07:22 PM

Forget Reality - I want a game show where we can win prizes fabric, notions, machines, storage, irons, lessons with Quilting personalities, fabric, gift cards to online fabric stores, tools, fabric- well you get the idea.

Painiacs 07-24-2013 07:48 PM

Quilters gone wild!!!

Oh, this IS a better idea!

Painiacs 07-24-2013 07:50 PM

I like the game show idea!! Find the thimble in a hay stack?? Musical chairs- but when music stops you sit at a machine and have to be sewing!!!

How about "Are you smarter than a quilter"

gsbuffalo 07-25-2013 02:35 AM

grand idea. my stash is out of control so maybe you could stop by and do some organizing for me.

mpspeedy2 07-25-2013 02:56 AM

All of the suggestions sound like fun. I am happy to see that I am not the only person who hates "reality" shows. It is just a way to get out of paying actors 3 million dollars an episode for some 20 minute sitcom. I would be more than willing to watch one based on quilting.

sandy l 07-25-2013 03:12 AM

How about "Name that Pattern", but with a part of it missing....Or, my favorite.."find the missing piece of fabric"

ArtsyOne 07-25-2013 04:35 AM

I would definitely watch "Show Us Your Stash", but would be green with envy every episode. And I would also watch "Show Us Your UFO's" with envy. If "Are You Smarter Than a Quilter" concentrated on geometry and math questions, the Quilter would win every time.

Long time ago there was a show call "Queen for a Day". They would have several wives that were contestants. The idea was the host told the story of the guests lives. These were "sob stories" about their lives...how hard they worked, the pains and illnesses of the family, her dedication (subissiveness), etc. The stories were just heartbreaking and always a tear-jerker. The panel of judges would question the wives the based on their sob-story and their individual answers, the judges would award them with glorious prizes...washer and dryers (new in that era), vacuum cleaners, irons, fantastic household appliances to make their lives easier (! Give them a vacation from housework, not something to do more with!). anyway, I want "Quilter for a Day". My sob-story...my room is always a mess, my laundry and house work is building up, my quarter inch seam is illusive, etc. My "prizes"? A professional organizer to design my room. A world-win tour of fabulous quilt stores, a credit card with unlimited spending, the used of any kind of machine I wanted, first pick of every line of fabric before it hits the stores. You name your prize. I want it all!
I want to be contestant number one...I tearfully submit my sob-story for your consideration.

On Food Network is a program RESTAURANT: IMPOSSIBLE. A famous chef visits restaurant, tests the food and help, tells the owner what all is wrong then guts the restaurant and remodels it.

QUILT ROOM: IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!! I would love to get my room tutted, remodeled and put back together!

Cheshirecatquilter 07-25-2013 06:08 AM

How about: Fabric Interventions ?

I hate, hate, hate the guy who hosts that show. If someone like him came into my fabric storage room, I'd have to kill him.

mighty 07-25-2013 07:03 AM

Sounds like a wonderful idea to me!!!!

You have peaked my curiosity...haven't seen the show...your last line kills me. Also, have always got a chuckle out of your signature quote.

I LOVE IT!!! Count me in!! I may need to see an episode on how to clean my house because since I've started quilting I don't clean!! I use to walk and that seems to not happen as much..

Quilt police (And how they get shot down!)
Quilter Master Chefs (Who can make the fastest, easiest, "decent' food in order to get back to the studio?)
Quilting Couponers (and the best internet sites for "Cheap S.E.X.) (Stash Enhancement eXperiences)

Dolphyngyrl 07-25-2013 04:47 PM

I would like to see one on studio makeovers on hgtv that would be cool if they can show you how to redo it low cost like room makeovers but just on craft room makeovers

Nammie to 7 07-25-2013 06:36 PM

There used to be a show on HGTV where they organized your room. Obviously those people were not crafters or quilters as the rooms ended up nice but everything that didn't fit got thrown away! I don't care for reality programs either - I either read or play here on the board while spending "quality" time with my hubby in front of the TV.

kareno 07-25-2013 06:36 PM

What would you do with this fabric?

Thimble Dynasty

Batting Wrestling

Night of the ripper

tuckyquilter 07-25-2013 08:22 PM

Pitch it to the major studio's. AND if they make a show YOU make money. That's how many of the new shows get started.
