less than one year. I took a quilting class years and years ago, but just started quilting in November 2010 when my daughter asked me to make a throw for her father-in-law. Almost everything I know, I have learned from this quilting board and the links you all have provided. I am hooked. I started a spiral notebook and I have written down tips and pattern ideas and have been off and running!

6 years-a local quilt shop opened near my home with the most amazing teacher. She has been feeding, encouraging, and challenging the addictive part of my personality ever since!

I did my first quilt in the early 80's, but didn't pick it back up until my kids were raised about 7 years ago.

I definitely won't be your longest quilter, but I started when I was 8-my mother and I sandwiched a sheet, army field blanket and a rectangular crazy quilt and tacked it with yarn. Not the most elaborate, but very warm!

All said and done, I am going on 31yr.

I made my first quilt about 20 years ago as a teenager. :)
Wow....who knew? It feels like yesterday.
