I really like you cute cottages - They are so sweet. You did a great job. I am still learning free motion quilting myself so I cannot not anything more to what as already been stated.

I would do some stippling or swirly quilting in the areas around the houses. That would make the houses pop. This quilt is a real cutie, love your colors, too.

I wouldn't stitch in the ditch around all the seams - just the major ones. In the little curves it gets too tight& it is hard to stay on the line. I would do the house roof, around the trees, walkway...and maybe the front door and just one of the curved lines not all. Then stitch your blocks..I would do all those lines.

I use Pellon 805 Wonder- Under. It is very light and does a great job. You can buy it by the yard at walmart ,Joanns or every other place with fabric, and it is not expensive.

Ok, sugarfoot.....If I were doing it. Make a good sandwich, I would find a stand out thread for the bobbin a contrasting thread for the back and quilt the top around each house and tree. So. that when you look at the back you see the whole quilt design. I did a fan quilt like that Christmas fan, it took several years for me to collect the fabrics. But I used a red fabric for the back and a white bobbin thread. When you looked at the back you saw red fan blades outlined in white. Made an impression at a quilt show. It was my first quilt. The front was Christmas fabric on white so the white thread around the fans on front only showed the quilting. I did this by rolling the quilt on each side and starting in the middle (Reg sewing machine), worked slowly until I got use to doing it. One side then the other smoothing as I went, then the binding. If you need more help let me know. Have fun.

I love it, I would outline almost everything, trees, cottages with the roof, etc. Even though you have already blanket stitched around all the pieces I would follow with quilting all around. I have done that several times. I am no expert by any means but that is what I would do.
