Well call me lazy :-D :-D
I think I wouldn't cut all the little strips.I would just cut on long strip ,and then sew it on and cut it,and repeat it all the way around.
Did that make sense what I just said???
:-D

You aren't crazy! I thought the same thing and I am going to try it that way. The pattern uses 1 3/4" strips, I wonder if you could use 2 1/2" strips which is the size I have cut. I am going to try it.

Go for it and please show us.I would have already tried it, but I am in the middle of painting my room(((which would be done already if I would stay off the computer  )))

Nice blocks. Will you PP them? Looks like fun.

Thanks for the pattern link. Yes now another project.

No way I'll cut all those strips to fit. I'd sew and then cut them off like other posters said to do. I'm using my Go hex die to make the center hex. I think this will be a great scrap project.

Awesome quilt!

saw it on simply quilts w/ alex anderson a few years ago, only she continued with only 1 octagon and made it into a spider web for halloweem quilt - have made a few of them as "tablecloths' and they turn out adorable - as soon as I figure out how, I will post a pix of 1
