I have done a stack n whack and loved it. Didn't use a mirror though. The stack n whack was my first big quilt and when done I gave it to my niece. OBW is on my list of quilts to do.

I have done 3 OBW's and have fabric to make another. I love them, they always turn out so different to eachother. The worst thing is pressing all your seams open, but I am going to try and make my own stripstick this time and see if that helps. http://www.thestripstick.com/
Make sure you put a new blade in your rotary cutter, it will help a lot :) |

I have not made another since. When we looked for fabric, my daughter used an app on her I phone and took a picture and somehow got to see what the fabric would look like. I think it is pretty forgiving when you put it together. Good luck if you make one. take pictures and show us as it is in progress. |

Angelia -- LOVE your quilt! You are right, the open background worked great for this. I think it was successul because of your layout.
Teresa -- LOVE your quilt! Your setting and cornerstones are very effective, and with that bold fabric, it really lets the blocks shine. |
I have made one and used the flat flower type pins to pin the layers of fabric in place. They work better than the glass headed pins I think. It is always interesting to include a larger piece of the original fabric such as using it for the border or backing or just putting a piece on the back so that you have reference as to what the original piece looked like.
