Stick with the butterfly - Its more in line with a childrens/youth quilt that will grow with them!!! Love the block. Want to see quilt when you are done. thanks for sharing cheryl

I've pretty much decided I am sticking with this one. I like colorful things and kids do also. So guess that makes me a kid at heart. LOL

I was just checking what was posted and saw that you like applique. That is my favorite. What method do you like?

I'm new at applique as well and love to use alot of different dies to cut them with unless I have no choice and have to cut with scissors. I'd have to say machine applique but will do others as well.

Ok guys and gals.

I just finished cutting for 30 blocks, allowing 4 extra one's in case I mess up. Anyway I just got through putting it on my design wall just to see what it would look like minus the butterfly applique. Have to do that next week or will start sometime end of next week.

Photo did not come out as good as I wanted it to, not as bright looking in the photo as it really is. I realize these 25 blocks will be swapped with others in the guild but just wanted to see what it would look like all together.

I'm seriously thinking of making me a quilt with this block if I can get more fabric to do so. I may even consider putting a solid color block every other one I have here.

I have a ton of batiks which I believe would work good with it. Just a matter of sorting through it all and finding batiks that would complement this block.

That's a wonderful project. What a gift to a precious little children who gets removed from his or her home through no fault of their own. Blessings to you.

I love the butterfly but the fabric in the lower right with the black and white swirls keeps pulling my eye away.
