If you don't mind a strip of stick-on velcro on your garage door, you can pin the sew-on to the top of the quilt and it will hang really nice!

Fortunately we have a banister on the second floor. DH is usually my quilt hanger.

My DH is usually my quilt holder too, see attached photo with his feet showing, LOL!

Used to pin quilts to a wall papered wall in my dining room and found hundreds of pin holes in the wallboard when we removed the wall paper. Now the walls are painted and I can't pin quilts into them without the pinholes being very noticable. You can see the wall I used to use, it's the one with the picture hanging on it. May in Jersey

Most quilts I photograph while they are hanging from the clothesline outside...have to be careful to do it when they are in the shade, and you can see the clothes pins. Sometimes, I have to rotate the pictures because of how I had to hang the quilt.
