I resize everything I post anywhere on the Internet to be 1 mb or less. You can check the size of your picture by right-clicking onit, then selecting "properties" or simply hovering over the picture. It will say something like 2.5 mb (too big) or 975 kb (just right). 1024 kb is 1 mb.
Is there a way to go back and either delete or resize photos we've already posted? |
I generally use a relatively small size for the quilt photos I shoot, but take them to a smaller size for posting. I can sympathize with those who deal with slow transfer speed. When I had dial up, my actual speed was generally 14. really large files still drive me crazy. (our valley only got DSL 2 years ago.)

I agree....not everyone is as computer savy and the softwares are always changing...I rather spend my time figuring out a quilt pattern...

I do not think it is " laziness" I am an educated professional, however, not educated in the ways of computer technology. I can literally save lives every day and assist in keeping a critically ill person alive untill I can get a doctor out of bed to come in and take over, but when it comes to figuring out files and such on a computer I am perhaps ignorant but not lazy.I have spent literally hours attempting to download things to devices such as Ipods, spent hours trying to find photos etc. In todays high tech lifestyle many take for granted that everyone knows their way around computers when that is simply not the case. It is just not as simple as not being lazy as you may think.

Please do not discourage our quilt family from posting pictures...its hard enough as it is. I love posting and viewing all of the pictures!!! Maybe you could upgrade and get a better internet service.

I agree with you!

I sometime think about trying to post pictures of quilts I've done, but I'm like some of the others. I'm not real "computer savvy", and don't have a lot of time that I can spend out here and don't allways have someone around to help me.

On my computer I can save a copy of a picture into a file for "Email or Web" this folder or picture file can adjust the size of picture so it can be uploaded or sent easily. Older computer did not have this capability, which is why many may be using older computers and not able to do this either.
I also skip pictures if they take too long to load. My patience is short also. |
