I think this Board automatically resizes some pictures when posted on the threads.

I have Windows 7 and i was playing w/ the right click feature. With Windows 7, when I hover over the picture, right click on the picture, a window comes up.

Click on VIEW WINDOW INFO

Another window pops up w/ the window size. Some pictures have the pixels and others say "Resized to xxxxx"(which is why I wonder if the Board automatically resizes the pictures???)

When I take my pictures, I can resize them in Microsoft Picture Manager to a "Web Small" - which is 448x360

I can get to the Microsoft Picture Manager by right clicking on my picture after downloading it. A window pops up and I can "Open withXXXXXX" I chose the Picture Manager.

I hope that helps some of you.

I survived for four yrs. on dial-up in rural WV. I didn't expect anyone else to change their life style or preferences for my convenience, I suffered through. I would start a download for a Jacquie Lawson card and go off and take my shower, come back, still loading, go off, get dressed, come back, still loading, go brush teeth and comb hair, sometimes it would be ready for viewing. Yes, it was a nuisance, but I survived and now am on wireless. Lucky me. UTube was an unknown quantity for me in those days. I survived.

I use Irfanview. It is a simple program to use and available for free. You load the program, open your picture, from the Image menu select Resize/Resample. You can see the size of your image and click on 640x480 to resize it. Then save your resized image. It's simple to use... I know because I figured it out. Give it a try.

Resize...yes I can do that. Post a picture on this board...not been able to since they changed things. Finally gave up!

I use FastStone Photo Resizer. It is a free download and works great.

I agree with raedar63. I am a retired professional and I'm not always able to figure things like that out. My 7-year-old granddaughter is not always here to help me.

[QUOTE=BellaBoo;5500371]It's mostly plain laziness not to resize pictures. All you have to do is read instructions and with youtube you can see it done on just about every picture editing program there is. It is too simple to learn to do. Picasa is free and will do everything you need to a pic. Resize, edit, save in any format, upload to a free online storage, copy, crop, straighten, enhance, face recognition. It's an amazing program. Most don't know all you have to do is right click on an image/pic and select copy image. Then just right click and paste in the post. No need to upload."

Really .. Lazy??? I think for some just navigating this board is the most they can handle. I have a 84 year old Mom , who absolutely could not figure out how to post a photo , let alone resize it. I just happy she figured out how to use her computer to do some of the infinite amount of functions that these machines are capable.
DO rethink your words on this matter.

It is just not as simple as not being lazy as you may think.

Thank you! And it is not ignorance either. We all have differences in abilities and name calling is not a skill to be proud of. We come here for support and to learn in a positive, safe atmosphere.

I don't understand about the homes not being in internet coverage areas. I live in the country, and have "dial up wireless", if that makes any sense. It comes in over the phone lines, but is really fast. I can get anything I know how to get! ! ! I haven't found anything yet that wouldn't come in. The phones have filters on so that I can use the phones and computer at the same time. It works great.

I figured out how to resize. Now, can someone tell us the suggested size. There are many conflicting opinions. I hope the pictures will be big enough to view. Some are way to big and some are too small to see the quilt.
