I've sewn for miles before realizing I had no bobbin thread!

I have a drop in bobbin on my Babylock. Kept having problems with the stitching. Auto tension! I kept yelling at it that it had auto tension! I finally decided to rethread the whole machine and decided to do a through cleaning in the bobbin area. Took the bobbin case completely out and discover a wad of fuzz under the bobbin case. Problem solved. So now I not only do a compete rethreading, I also do a cleaning.

Oh, a fantastic tip on Fons and Porter the other day. Pipe cleaners to clean the bobbin area and under the feed dogs. DH found a large package for me the other day at Joann's for 99 cents. That should last me a while!.

I've had birds' nests on the bottom of embroidery - redid the bobbin quite a few times before I realized the thread was out of the takeup lever. You can't see the whole thread path on the machine. I've had machines do that before, and finally put a piece of tape over the opening in the takeup lever. That meant you had an "eye" there, not as convenient to thread, but the thread stayed put.

Ahhh Grasshopper: you have truly become part of the club now .. LOL

We have all done that at one time or another; sigh .. we all feel so darned silly; but then we re-thread and get over it. Tell our friends and they laugh with us !! LOL

I don't recall doing that, BUT, I have done....more times than I want to admit to......sewed about a mile down the road before I noticed that the bobbin had run out. You'd think I could learn a lesson sometime.:(

If there's a way to make a mistake, I've found a way to do it!

You're definitely not alone, and to take it one step further, I've been sewing right along before discovering that I ran out of bobbin thread several feet ago. Yup, been there, done that and more than a time or two.
