Thanks to the comments here, I turned mine upside down today to sew and it made it stay in position much better!

Thanks!! No cost!

the BERNINA one does not unplug. you push a button and it reels back into the machine

On Janome's you control the speed with a switch(?)/button on the machine not the foot pedal.

I have a Janome with that foot pedal and really like it. I got a very nice Brother Innova...and was disappointed in the foot pedal that came with that.

I dont plan to use my Bernina pedal. I would try to find an old unused one, cut the plug off and attach a janome plug.......!?

I have a vinyl floor and have tried all the suggestions. Finally, turning the foot pedal upside down worked! Who woulda thunk it! ;-)

I put one of those shelf liners, that are rubbery, under my foot pedal and it seems to stay very well, and it cost only $1 at the dollar store.

I have the same pedal and also put the rubber under it. I have never had a huge foot like your other one though so I am used to a little one I think the big one would be hard for me to get used to.lol

You can, but you don't have to. I actually don't like to use the start/stop button. I like to have both hands on my fabric at all times- better control. Plus with the start/stop button you don't have variable speed control unless you're using your hand to fiddle with the speed setting, which again means you don't have both hands on your fabric.

Foot pedals all the way for me!

I use my button too. It makes sewing steady. A rubber mat should help the foot from moving though. Give it a try.
