MY DIL wanted the quilt called "Transportation Quilt" & wanted red sashing & a red back. This was for my first grandchild which was a girl) Not what I had pictured for a baby, let alone red but it was fine.

That would be a awesome quilt. Type Thomas the Tank Engine in the search. I remember seeing a couple of quilts here.

Yes you should. What is the sense in making a child's quilt that the child may not like. Make him happy by giving him what he wants regarding such.
|
yes, yes, yes, red is beautiful and bright and it is your sons quilt right? :P

Red can be great. I made a blue themed quilt for my first GS. He turned out to be relatively quiet. I made a red one for the 2nd. He turned out to be loud. How did I know?

Of course, he will be thrilled and you will be too when you see how plesased he is.

I LOVE RED ON QUILTS AND IT WILL BE GREAT ON THOMAS!!

Thomas the Red Engine? Why not!! Check with him first. Maybe he'll just want the caboose in red.
My sister commissioned me to sew her 12 yr old hockey playing daughters grad from grade 7 dress a few years ago - she is a very particular girl so I had to enlist her help with designing it. The first draft was an elongated hockey sweater. We progressed to a jewel neck, capped sleeve ankle length with a belt to be tied in the back in a strong water wash blue - with large seams and long hem so be let out and down if we wanted to wear it again, and she did - The success - because she made most of the choices. What a delight handling the large pattern pieces of that gorgeous cotton!! |
