Yellow sashing.

I like it without the sashing. It really looks great.

I agree. No sashing.

I would finish it without sashing, but use the blue as the first border to "contain" the busy pattern. Nice job!

Patricia Ann 04-08-2011 07:25 PM

To much yellow in the blocks you need to use the blue

Quiltaddict 04-08-2011 10:02 PM

I like it without the sashing.

I think the yellow is really pretty. It makes the colors in the blocks stand out and yet softens the quilt.

rona thickpenny 04-08-2011 10:29 PM

My choice is the blue , but that is my favorite colur

Annaquilts 04-08-2011 10:31 PM

Same here and if you do sash I prefer the blue else the blocks blend too much.

I kind of look the look of the white you have in that first picture. I know you wasn't showing that as sashing but I think white kind of makes all the colors stand out. If not white I like the blue.

Usually I'm a sashing girl, but I love these blocks all on their own with all the mix of color and design.

katigirl 04-09-2011 12:04 AM

First I was thinking yellow but the blue really pops too so either would work. Looks great.

kaykwilts 04-09-2011 02:21 AM

yep, yellow sashing...I love yellow

KwiltyKahy 04-09-2011 04:30 AM

I'd try black sashing

nabobw 04-09-2011 04:41 AM

yellow

doll-lady 04-09-2011 12:42 PM

either way would look great. that is very pretty.

joeyoz 04-09-2011 12:48 PM

I love the sashing

Jammin' Jane 04-09-2011 09:16 PM

I really like the blue sashing. It really pops out all the other colors. Let us know what you choose!

travelingquilter 04-10-2011 01:16 PM

yellow is brighter and shows off the fabricvs more. i'm not sure i wouldn't just piece them together, for a more scrappy look

mimistutz 04-11-2011 06:31 AM

Actually I like the first picture first. I think I like sashing, and I think it looks like narrow white sashing.

Joan Gaddis 04-11-2011 11:05 AM

i like the blue best but the yellow is pretty also

4dogs 04-11-2011 12:36 PM

I would vote for black sashing, and I would do a thin line not a wide one, to get the effect without taking away from all the wonderful colors and design.......it will look good, no matter which way you decide to do it..

Grandma Cindy 04-12-2011 10:30 AM

And the decision is????

ispy 04-12-2011 06:10 PM

Have you thought about using black?

silvam 04-13-2011 03:00 AM

I like the yellow -

barbb baumgardner 04-13-2011 05:22 PM

Odd, but I think the gold makes the blocks pop! My feeling is the gold is warmer and more cozy and comforting. The blue, while the color is beautiful, leaves me in the cold. Good luck! Whatever you decide will be right for you.

Hi
The yellow seems to wash the blocks out to me.
Lay it out and get across the room from it and see what is more pleasing to you.

I recently did a quilt just like this but the colors were primarily in purple and green. I chose to sash it, as the blocks were so busy with the different fabrics. I used fabrics that went through all the blocks and sashed it with three fabrics. I sewed width of fabric one inch strips of dark with design, middle was turqoise with little design on it and then I repeated the first one. It really pulled the quilt into a different look than doing it with out the sashing. When I quilt it, I will post it here.

If I had to choose for you, I would go with the yellow one. Keep it vibrant.

I vote for the blue sashing.

KwiltyKahy 04-18-2011 03:43 PM

Has any of this cleared it up for you?
