If you use the moleskin for a long period of time doesn't it wear and then your 1/4 " would be off? Just wondering.

I have never used it, but wouldn't you just replace it?

Yes you could replace it, but it wouldn't be accurate all the time if it wears.

I bought one but could not get it to fit on my machine correctly - I have a designer 1 - not sure if it is the machine or just me but I didn't have any luck with it

I guess someone who uses it would have to tell us.

I could sink a cruise ship with all the gimicks like that I have tried over the years....I think it is more what you are used to doing that works. Some like a flange on the edge of their 1/4" foot, some don't...I don't...but I guess you have to figure out what works for you!
Congrats on the weight loss. I have lost 25# since May...but didn't really start losing regularly until July when I began Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live lifestyle. It is so easy...although does have a learning curve...but other than that....so easy.

I tried it. Do NOT like it. Mole skin works MUCH better.

What's the moleskin????????

When I had my longarm cast, the doctors gave me pieces of moleskin to put on the edges of the cast at the base of my fingers. It was really soft and prevented blisters. My late DH also had it to put on the oxygon tubes to prevent his cheeks from being inflamed from the tubing. It is it is a tough, soft cloth-like material on one side and an adhesive pad on the other side. You can get a couple of different thicknesses.

You can buy moleskin at any drug or discount store like Walmart....near the blister patches or where you would find sports tape or prewrap.

$8.74 instead of clothida's price of ... what was it? ... $12.95 or something?

it's just a hold-down that the strip glides under to keep it from shifting.
