Here's a link to last year's thread if anyone wants to see it. We opened our gifts on Dec. 11th last year, I think it was a Sunday.

Katheen,
Yes it is correct. UPPER case and lower case are different symbols. There would be an "symbol map" to guide a person through it.

Louise - is your puzzle actually correct? It appeas to me your "E" is different. That would confuse even me who likes those puzzles.
I have started on some handmade goodies for my Secret Santa and will probably 'fluff' it out with something bought. Let's go!!!! |
I definitely want to join in --- hoping we get the full instructions soon as this will be my first and i have no clue how this works.

Count me in. This sounds exciting!!!!! And what say if you make a little something homemade to put in the box - that doesn't count off your $20 spending allowance does it? I would hope not ;-)

I think that would be fun. I know some computers have fonts with images. I'm in

I'm curious has anyone included a "puzzle" of sorts in the SS boxes?
Such as a letter composed of "mystery fonts"? where the recipient has to "decode" the message to read it? of course the mystery fonts would be included, along with UNcoded letter if someone didn't want to have "fun" decoding the letter. I use to do this all the time (on another quilting board) and MOST of the time everyone had fun and enjoyed the extra surprise of the letter being in crazy themed wingdings fonts. Here is an example of what I am talking about in case anyone might be confused. |
Have I said I have already started shopping and making perty thing in the SS work shop  :)

The $20 is pretty much a cut-off because now with money tight with the economy, it's hard for some to squeak out that amount. I don't judge if people put more in the box than the $20, some people are just a bit more enthusiastic with giving, while others adhere to the $20 because that's mainly all they can afford. Am I going to whip people with wet noodles if they send more? Nope. Nothing I can do if someone wants to be generous. It's just the way people are. So, if you want to count a home made item towards the amount, that's ok, if not, that's ok too. |
I want to join this year also :)
